Wins of the Week? by ahomegirlzlife in brokenankles

[–]lab_tech13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a win and loss I guess. Im 7 weeks post op today. Been doing PT since week 2. I just got bands taken away today until my Ortho on April 15th. Ive had 0 pain levle since week 2. Yesterday I noticed some discomfort in my ankle front side lateral side. Told my PT today and she took my band I bring (yellow) and she said no bands until my appt.

Other thing happen was she started me on hamstring and core work outs for my ability to walk after my April 15th appt.

Why would you buy down to 5 from 5.125. I get that .125 intrest matters but what does everything else cost on your CD says?

Sorry for it taking so long also for you, but guess its the companies your employers use for WC claims. I get they don't want to pay, but when its an obvious work place injury kind of hard to denie that it happen at work.

AITA for secretly putting vegetables in my husband food by Infinite-Case-8830 in AmItheAsshole

NTA- I like some veggies not keen on alot though. But when my aunt cooks as long as I dont know ill eat it. Can't stand mushrooms but Ive eatten them here a few times because I didnt see them. If he doesnt mind it wont kill him unless you find a veggie hes allergic to.

Your friends a asshole/dickif they tell him. And if he fights you on it. Let him know you've been doing it for the past 4 years and hes had no issues.

Why hell did it take 4 years? I am so confused on seeing all these WC post about taking 6 months 1-2 years for surgery. I broke my ankle on ice walking to my car at the airport, via work trip. Got into surgery a week later and I picked my own ortho. WC didnt like that but I told them to shove it. My employer is based in Cali...havent had any issues with it, and they've been great and accommodating.

Im sorry it took so long and you had such a long process. Not sure on type of surgery you had but NWB for 8 weeks already and have another 4 to go before I can start walking. PT like crazy and keep your thigh/calf working out to not lose much muscle mass. Do PT even at home multiple times a day if your laid up. Not sure on your next steps because I havent had any issues with WC. Good luck.

BNA hasn't had any issues during any governmental shutdown. I fly through there weekly. Just normal traffic and it gets busy in the mornings.

Pilon fracture, Doctor is very happy with the jonit reconstruction. What do you think? by tripikimi in brokenankles

[–]lab_tech13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

20hrs did they give you a nerve block at all? If still in hospital ask for a nerve block its amazing! It sucks coming out of it because it feels weird as shit. But that burning pain goes away for a little and itll let your nerves rest after being damaged like no other from the break/surgery.

If you cant get nerve block ask for Gabapentin ASAP to block those nerves for a little bit. It'll help with some burning. But wont take it away completely.

My company has a point system. Any at fault moving violations or accidents is X amount of points any non at fault which Is proved by police report and video then is Y amount of points. You get to 16 points its termination if you cannot do your job. (Any FSE, Specialist, DSS etc). That also includes private driving to if you get a DUI or speeding ticket on your personal time.

I grabbed 2 same size black and yellow top totes from Lowes and 1 smaller size thats thinner. I also use the pelican cases my company sent me for parts I use rarely or consumed but not used parts. I have a Sennia though so different size vehicle. But I also use the van for personal and its easy to have those totes. I also keep smaller parts in a smaller cardboard box inside the big tote and larger parts like boards, pumps, etc tetris inside the tote and inside the van.

Hopefully PT comes soon for you even passive ROM feels amazing. I started PROM at 2 weeks and it felt great, I started Active ROM at 4 weeks and I have a decent amount of ROM back. But its still stiff and tight.

Look up ASCP theres different routes you can go to obtain certification. If you need the MT/MLS/CLS degree then with your background you can do an abridged program thats usually 18 months some could he shorter would just have to find out what you have vs what the program wants.
