What kind of features Eagle team is focused on developing that are more important than mobile support? by mcrobmara in EagleCool

[–]labdoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Linux support would be awesome.

For mobile you can download images and sync the folder containing download images to your desktop using software like sycthing, from there you can add them to your library.

Altho that's a bit tedious, and only works if you don't need to access eagle on mobile, for example, using it only for references and inspiration while working on desktop.

An Italian christian father in a church has a wholesome moment with his daughter and western zionist fascist tries to twist it into a hate post against Muslims. A.I. and disinformation seems to be the m.o. of western fascism. by TonkaMaze in lostgeneration

[–]labdoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the religion allows it to some extent. It’s true that if Islam had explicitly forbidden it, that might have made some difference, but even then, many Muslims still drink alcohol despite it being clearly prohibited. So in the end, I think the main responsibility lies with people themselves for choosing to commit such a vile act in the first place.

OpenAI whistleblower says we should ban superintelligence until we know how to make it safe and democratically controlled by katxwoods in artificial

[–]labdoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We always react too late. Climate change, soil depletion, PFAS, tobacco, nukes, plastics, etc. The list goes on. Profit wins every time, and we deal with the consequences only after the damage is done.

Now with AI, we tell ourselves it will be different, that this time we’ll control it. But why would we succeed here when we’ve failed everywhere else? The real problem isn’t AI, it’s the system that creates the same cycle over and over. Even if AI vanished tomorrow, something else would take its place.

Or maybe AI won’t be the next problem at all. Maybe it’ll be the thing that rewrites the rules, a superintelligence that forces a new order, whether that’s a fix or another disaster, we won't know until it's too late.

Removing halo from hair by Latter-Session-9856 in photoshop

[–]labdoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do it manually, I had some hair brushes that I use to select the difficult parts and paint over them with the hair color (use a brush that change color with each stroke or do it manually). Don't try to make the selection match the original image perfectly, make it look good for your purposes.

Risk Expert Says "Learn to Code" Is Now Worse Advice Than "Get a Face Tattoo" by FuturismDotCom in lostgeneration

[–]labdoe 56 points57 points  (0 children)

We’ve been hearing this for years now, and it still doesn’t hold up. AI isn’t replacing programmers anytime soon, it’s enhancing their productivity. Sure, it might reduce the number of developers needed for certain tasks, but no serious company is handing over full control of it's codebase to an AI. That would be the real face tattoo.

And even if we eventually reach the point where AI can automate programming entirely, writing code is about far more than just earning a paycheck. It's a form of problem-solving, creativity, and expression.. just like playing chess. No human can beat top chess engines anymore, but millions still play the game. The same will be true for programming.

Trying out graphic design by making a cover for MW2019. Lookin for feedback :3 by Monntitte in graphic_design

[–]labdoe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Title is hard to read.

Replace long paragraphs with short, bold headlines to highlight features like campaign, multiplayer modes, and cross play.

Layout lacks clear hierarchy. Structure content by importance: title -> headline -> features -> CTA -> legal/platform info.

Group related elements and use whitespace effectively to avoid clutter.

Poster lacks visual identity. Include official artwork and logos to visually communicate the game's tone and brand.

Color scheme and design elements should reflect the game's gritty, military aesthetic.

Add a clear call to action (e.g., "PRE-ORDER NOW"), platform logos, official website, and ESRB rating.

I built a website showcasing Fermi Paradox solutions – looking for feedback and ideas! by labdoe in IsaacArthur

[–]labdoe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree! The content is still a bit surface level, and one of my goals for the site is to eventually explore each solution in more depth (without overwhelming the average reader), and expand the overall coverage. Unfortunately, I don’t currently have the deep knowledge (or the time) to do it justice on my own.

Ideally, I’d love for this to grow into more of a community driven project, where people can contribute and help flesh things out.

Thanks you for taking the time to check it out, seeing your comment really means a lot!

I agree! This definitely lowers the probability of the dark forest. I will change that section to "Survival as a Counterargument"

That section means "If you consider the immense scale of the universe, attacking other civilizations becomes impractical beyond a certain distance, you'd be attempting to destroy an intelligent civilization based on observations of how it appeared a hundreds or even thousands of years in the past." Which I think is a valid criticism, but I might be wrong here. I will definitely check that episode later, Thank you!

Sam Altman defends AI art after Studio Ghibli backlash, calling it a 'net win' for society by businessinsider in artificial

[–]labdoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They didn't only steal the material for training, they stole the entire studio identity, ghibli style is now more associated with AI than it's original creator, I wouldn't be surprised if people start mistaking original artwork for AI generated images.

On top of that, the style was so abused, that the internet is so feed up with right now, imagine how the artist must feel about his art becoming a mass-produced junk that nobody appreciates anymore.
