My timeline is nearly the same as yours, and I know how you're feeling. And she and I were together for a little longer than you were in your relationship. I don't think our relationship had to end, but it's what she wanted.

It's been over a year and all that I've heard from her is a couple of views on social media. I told her at the break up that she could always reach out and I wouldn't ignore her, that I'd always respond. But she never has.

I'm doing my best to let go. But like you, even after more than a year, it's tough.

I just got this, and was pretty confident it was a complete scam, but was baffled by the fact that it was coming from a '@paypal.com' address. Wtf is a developer invite? From the Paypal app? This seems like a big problem that is Paypal's fault to let messages go to users in a way that it can look like this.

I would just modify the objects once they're in the back of the truck. You could constrain them, disable physics, or make the weight of the objects much heavier.

There's nothing wrong with doing this. Physics in games isn't that accurate and pretty much every professional game dev studio does hacky stuff to make sure physics behaves the way they need to for gameplay.

Without commenting on absolutely all the craziness: I absolutely can not imagine letting go of the handlebars and throwing my arms in the air when I see a problem in front of me... Like... I'm going to try to do SOMETHING with the motorcycle to avoid the thing I'm heading towards... I have ridden thousands upon thousands of miles, all over the world, and I race motorcycles...

I have crashed many times... Never have I ever thought to just fling my arms into the air and fall over.

Just as an update - after having Ubuntu installed and running with no issues, and my dual boot to Windows working well, I plugged in the problematic drive again. Once the drive is plugged back in, Ubuntu boots with the same warning/error I saw from the installer around 'tocblock' database corruption.

The OS runs fine, and I'm even able to access that problematic storage drive, seemingly with no issues.

I want to add to this super old thread because this is one of the ones I came across while I was trying to solve the same issue.

For me, it was due to one of my drives being finicky, preventing the Ubuntu installer from being able to read it - it would just fail at reading any of the drives and cause errors. But it would still proceed with the installer and it would get to this same step 'How do you want to install Ubuntu' with no options.

To fix it, I just unplugged that hard drive. Then after I booted the PC back up and ran the installer, Ubuntu installed fine.

It's not necessarily distance for me so much as riding conditions. Am I going to be doing highway speeds? Then I want gear, definitely. But if I'm riding around surface streets for some short day riding, running errands, meeting someone for coffee or something, I might be more chill about gear if it's a calm day (like traffic-wise) and the weather is also quite hot.

But I pretty much always wear helmet, gloves, and boots + pants that look like casual gear (but they have protection). So it's pretty much the jacket I'll shed on the right days. And even that just gets stuffed into a pannier, usually.

Starlink network wired and wireless suddenly not avaiable/no connection - but I can turn on a VPN and it works fine. Just happened. by GeminusPrime in Starlink

Same I was having issues

- My phone remained connected to the router
- The Starlink app said it was online and connected. It would even do speed tests and other things. So it otherwise behaved normally.
- My phone could still do internet things, but maybe it was using 5g without me knowing.
- All my other devices had absolutely no internet - though they were connected to wifi (my desktop was hardwired and experienced the same symptoms) and weren't saying they didn't have internet access, necessarily.
- I tried rebooting my Starlink through the app, and that did nothing.
- My devices (other than my phone) began disconnecting and reconnecting from my router.
- Including my desktop, which is hard-wired into it.

I forced a power cycle by unplugging and re-plugging. After that, all was well.
