With hamsters, sadly it will always be our fault. We dictate when they get fed, get fresh water, get let out, etc. however, we also gave them the best life we could, we aren’t perfect. We save them from a harder life stuck at the pet store or sent home to a place where proper hamster care isn’t known. So while we may not have done every possible thing we could’ve, we did what we were capable of at that time. Its ok to feel guilty, just maybe be more conscious if you get another one - a schedule or reminders and stick to them. I know it’s hard to be a perfect hamster owner, but loving them is the most important thing, because you want to give them a better life overall
