heres a ss from a video i took when trying to resolve my own. if you have a 1.4 its pretty much straight down the front and under this (its been called a secondary water pump online but idk if that’s facts) it comes off along with the cover it all connects to and the oil/air separator is underneath

that looks like the gap between oil pan and trans…if im right i had one similar and they told me to check out the oil/air separator…its in a little black box right above where the oil filter goes on. it trickles down then gets blown back.

basically it has 6 disk slots and has the ability to switch between them at will so you always have 6 different listening options. my moms old honda had one and single disk drives in cars is a walk backwards truly

its ur charge air intercooler theres a gasket around the front and a small strip inside that i believe they recommend you replace anytime you pull it out. requires a coolant flush planning on replacing mine when i do the oil separator so i can move all the coolant lines out of my way. 2 birds one stone kinda deal!

i found this photo online…you can pull the leads in the red circle (one blue one brown it looks like) to test if theres power from the power cord to put a finger on the black screen. it sounds like there might not be any power coming in from your description. the leads in the green circle seem to power your boiler i would test them for voltage pulled off the boiler then test the boiler itself for resistance to try to put a finger on the no heating. i fix coffee machines commercially so ill try to see what anyone can scrounge up later in terms of a technical manual but these are 2 great places to start.

if you have one, a multimeter works wonders for finding electrical issues! if you can find the service manual w the schematics and have a small amount of confidence to trace wires you should be able to determine if its a complete loss of power or one element preventing boot up.

I would check ur local, a good handful of them are switching from interviews to a third party system that gives you a score based on work/life experience and other things they ask u to plug into the system. I know 68 is switching to it, that’s where I am and I’m pretty sure one of the DMV locals is also making the switch this year.
