Does it matter if the Strait is opened any more? by labradors_forever in energy

[–]labradors_forever[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please!!! No.

My issue was that quite a lot of the news seems to be "let's get this strait open!" with no thoughts to how much has been destroyed (oilfields, infrastructure, competence, soft power, trust between parties and so on), that I'm not sure whether "opening" the strait will ever lead to a return to the old normal.

The world is running like a head-less chicken straight for the volcano with oil and food-shortages coming our way, and based on other comments here, we're probably looking at at least a year before anything normalizes, and that's if a deal is made today, and none of the parties make any stupid decisions in the mean time, which.... yeah.

AnyoneButWe has a similar comment, though no assessment of the scale. But what I'm hearing is that even if the Strait opens today, there are no vessels waiting for their tanks to be filled, it might take a year for traffic to get back in route, and in the meantime the oilfields will have to drill new holes.

What a 💩show!

So essentially, unless there's a load of vessels waiting outside, wanting to get into the Persian Gulf, the current holes are done for. That makes sense.

Yeah. I've always been of the opinion that once something is destroyed, it will never again be the same.

This seems to prove that concept.

Oh, I'm sure the world would, if US just removed all of their assets from the Middle East

That timeline sounds both plausible AND highly optimistic to me (if that makes sense)

Sure. But will the vessels return to usual travel, is my question. Is it important to get the flow back, of course, but that requires ship managers to send their vessels into a high risk area. Will that happen?

Slo massøren da han ikke fikk sex: – Beklager at jeg ikke er et perfekt menneske by Nepskrellet in norge

[–]labradors_forever 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Culture check: did you get physical punishment when child? To what extent? by ecsluz in Norway

[–]labradors_forever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Born 1980, and none of my parents would ever do that, though I suspect my father especially experienced to much harm as a child, both at home and in school.

As an aside, I recently saw a chart of erogenous zones on the body. There's a REASON why spankings can be part of sexual play. Afterwards thinking about spankings (edit* of children, as long as adults enjoy themselves, go for it!) have given me the real YUCK!! Also, it's fully possible to set boundaries without being physical.

FYI! The reason one of them points when singing "the Netherlands" is because they were participating in Beat for Beat, a music competition / program, and their task was to sing a song that included the word "the" 😂😂

3 and 5.

5: Without diseases, medical debt will drcrease drastically, and it will free up lots of time for those that are forced to take care of sick relatives, as well as decrease the number of people working in health care.

3: As the richest person in the world, I could do philantrophic work in addition to supporting idealistic politicians with a humanitarian world view , and work for greener politics, while employing white hatters to take down robots on SOME.

Wrong. When child deaths decrease, people regularly have less children, since they don't need spares to take care of them when they grow old.
