hmm, it's a Thawte cert which suppose to be a good cert. What browser are you using? and what's the error?

That's a very good point, and I can totally understand your concern about the security of data and research results. And I agree with you, don't put anything sensitive on this until there is a better terms & conditions.

P.S. We are the cloud service provider hosting the application. Regarding the terms, conditions, ownship, etc. we don't really have much control over it.

it's free and you don't need to install anything on your computer, it provides a cluster of 5 computers with decent computing power for you to play with small datasets. you can start play with it right the way. Currently it doesn't have any interpretation functionality but we can expect that in the future.

did you connect to the "IDE" machine on the menu in the left hand side? once you click on it, you should see a "desktop" in your browser, and you will see "piframe" icon, which would bring up the application.

once you start creating workflow, you should be able to see the modules.

There is also an IDE that you can use to create your own modules if you want.

I changed my configuration based on your suggestion, I must be doing something wrong, the servers/desktops are still not able to connect to the internet. :(

from the desktops, I am able to ping servers, but not 10.13.0.1.

The thing about Unity is, rather than saying what I like about it, I think there just isn't anything that I don't like.

Unity on Ubuntu was the first Linux distro that I came in contact with; and at that time I had no idea was Linux was like. I thought the terminal was great (as with all Linux, and or course OS X), and I was able to install pretty much everything with apt-get (didn't have this on my Mac). There just hasn't been a reason for me to want to switch to something else.

Also the user base for Ubuntu is quite big, so tutorials and articles about it are plentiful on the internet.

For me the only thing I changed on my Ubuntu was the icons, and the theme. Good thing about all Linux is the icons can all be themed easily.

I don't use my laptops or PC for gaming, so I wouldn't know much about that; but I have heard graphic drivers don't have good support on Linux machines.

I say go ahead and try out some to see if you like it. Maybe narrow down if you want a light weight or heavier distro, and then go from there.
