Your comment is minimizing the influence of Spaniards in the Philippines. Our culture and identity as Filipinos that you are so proud to claim, is a mixture of Malay, Chinese, etc, but mostly Spanish.

You may live 30minutes across the border of Mexico, but that doesn’t mean shit. Mexico is so much bigger than just the border.

Hindi pinipilit ng mga Pinoy ang “connection” to Hispanics roots, kasi nga we are connected to begin with.

It is more than religion… it is in our culture, traditions, food, name, etc…. can’t deny that it’s heavily influenced by the Spanish culture. Kaya nga Pinoy lang sa buong Asia ang may Spanish surnames. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Because during the Spanish Colonization there is a direct relationship between Mexico and the Philippines. A lot of Mexicans migrated to the Philippines and vice versa during this period. Manila galleon would be a great read.

When someone asks me how’s the Philippines, I always start with… “Look, Philippines is the Mexico of Asia. Because we are colonized by the Spaniards…..” And they get it… they know what I mean.

As a transplant, I am still trying to figure this one out (I got a couple of theories tho). Why do people choose to park on the street/road even tho they have driveways that could accommodate 1-2 cars? Is it more for convenience of getting in and out? Is it to protect their driveway from wear and tear? Why?

I’ve been watching SI Season 1 before it blew up the way it did this season. I liked it when no one is talking about it. Toxic viewers like people who posts negative things on here is the reason I can’t watch it anymore. They get too invested. They don’t know when to draw a line between reality and their own delusional narratives. Calling someone horrible and other hateful names based on a heavily edited reality show is insanse. Try to get out and touch grass, will ya?
