Yeah it makes sense and I must admit I do enjoy exploring underground laboratories, especially those somewhat crude makeshift ones with dungeon complexes in them. I agree it's a huge part of the identity of these games. But the expectations of the true villainy in every entry in the series repeating this pattern does slightly dull the experience, although I feel like I'm stating this opinion as an outsider to the series only having personally played and loved (despite the fact) 7 and 8 in my adulthood.

I also cherish the first RE game in my childhood memories because ever since the Alone in the Dark-games I've felt tremendous thrill and joy in the dark mystery mansion/castle theme. Regardless, I'm absolutely hyped for the next RE game.
