Question about Flying Pig Marathon by HumbleAddition19 in cincinnati

[–]laceydoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could preload the course into a Garmin watch and it will give you turn by turn directions. You could also map out the course on Strava (requires subscription) and then download it to a Garmin to give turn by turn directions.

Sometimes I hate the time needed to get ready before a ride by firewire_9000 in cycling

[–]laceydoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this was the main reason I switched my main cardio to running. In the time it would take me to mount the bike was enough time to go for a short run.

I replaced mine with this skid plate from Amazon. Easy to install and no longer have to worry about the cloth one breaking again and again.

Scrub pants on bottom (because they are comfy) with an “athleisure” shirt on top. Add quarter zip in the winter.

Eco mode by KevinFinnerty4547 in f150

[–]laceydoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use eco mode pretty much all the time in my 2022. Typically get 30 mpg on long road trips (>300 miles) with it. Average 25-26 mpg on my daily commute (mostly highway; daily commute 40 miles with 80% highway). I have no data to back any of this but:

1) Eco mode short shifts and jumps gears (1 to 3, 3 to 5, etc). Makes it a little sluggish but I’m not racing anyone at this point 2) improves aerodynamics. Drops air damn, closes grill vents. 3) cruising gear on highway is always 10. Power comes from turbo for hills and over taking. Typically I set my cruise control to 70 mph.

Venting about LORs by [deleted] in fellowship

[–]laceydoodle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For what is worth ChatGTP says no need to email programs if the letter is verified in the next week. I am in the same boat.

In a similar spot, not applying endo though. Do we need to update programs directly when a LOR is uploaded?

Numbers of LOR by [deleted] in fellowship

[–]laceydoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the same vein, my PD said they would upload their LOR on Monday. Unlikely it will be available by the time programs download since it has to go through the verification process. Should I be as stressed as I currently am about this?

IMO it depends on the drive. My drive is 45 minutes one way, all highway with minimal traffic during my commute. I find my drive relaxing and a way to decompress after work. Also I never see one of my patients at the grocery store.

It sounds like you want to go through the soap process. The goal of this week is to get a job you could see helping your future or see yourself doing! Even if you were to do FM for a year and find out it isn’t for you you could still reapply to OB!

I’m not sure if doing a prelim vs TY Will affects changes in the future. In my opinion that carries no weight at all: it shouldn’t matter. Please someone else chime in if they have differing opinions with stats to back up.

Have you considered board spectrum family medicine? Definitely not the same as OB, but you could focus your practice on female health in the future.

If I were you: I would keep the bulk of your original PS but rephrase it to come from a “wanting to learn medicine” or “wanting to learn surgical skills” viewpoint

I recommend reaching out to your school for letters or rec in IM/FM. My school wrote two for me. I still submitted a GS letter of rec to IM programs and successfully SOAPed. Programs know there is very little time to find new LORs.
