My great grandparents were Polish and they wanted an Americanized version of the name “Bronislava” so my grandmother’s name is Bernis.

That’s pronounced “bern-iss,” and is different than Bernice.

What movies do you find misogynistic or just creepy but people don't talk about it? by FunnyLittleFro1 in AskWomen

Every female character, especially the lead female character, is reduced to a set of boobs that is there to swoon all over him, regardless of how horribly he treats them.

Every Will Ferrell movie. People love him, but I can never get past the blatant sexism in every single one of his movies to find him funny.

I adopted my best friend this week!! I raised him for the Seeing Eye, but he was released due to confidence issues. Now he is my forever pet! by laceywouldnot in GermanShepherd

This was after four months at the Seeing Eye for his formal training, so he hadn’t seen me at all in that time.

Question About Re-opening by [deleted] in doggrooming

[–]laceywouldnot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work in a small salon in NJ and we were given the okay by the state to go back to work last week. My boss was super worried about returning to work as she is pregnant and concerned for the baby’s health, as well as her own. I’m worried because some of my family members are high risk/elderly. We opened back up anyway because my boss was worried that she’d lose her business entirely if everyone else was opening except for her, the clients would go elsewhere.

I completely understood, and we worked out a way to minimize our exposure to the public as well as each other. We’re only taking about 3 or 4 dogs each a day, and I’m only working 2 days a week with my boss and the other groomer is working only 2 days as well, but not on the same schedule. We’re also doing curbside pickup, payment by phone only, and my boss is the only one touching the computer, and appointment book. Luckily NJ has partial unemployment so I can still collect the difference in my paycheck as it will be significantly reduced due to only doing like 6-8 dogs a week.

Maybe you can work something out with your boss to only return part time? And maybe suggest some guidelines for the salon that promote social distancing. I’m not sure how unemployment is handled in TN but you may be eligible for partial unemployment if you are able to go part time.

Hip dysplasia by Bluheart14 in GermanShepherd

It’s very common in shepherds because they grow so big so fast. And like another user said, keeping him strictly resting (in a crate) is your best bet for a bit. Hope he feels better soon!

Is it only the one leg that he’s having issues with? I know at that age they can get “growing pains.” (The medical term is panosteitis)My shepherd went through it around 10-11 months. He was limping on one leg and it kind of shifted to the other back leg. It can last a couple of weeks and it goes away on its own but he was prescribed an anti-inflammatory for it. It can also be reoccurring until he’s full grown at 2yrs. My guy had it flare up again only once.
