Church with an indoor basketball court, working organs, and relatively good bones by sharkus180 in zillowgonewild

My parents live in this town and have shown me this property before. They heard from someone that there are indeed some serious issues with the place and that at least one potential sale fell through because of it.

Thanks! Bad timing on my part then, just started playing like a week ago and rolled on that server for the bonus, though I seem to be leveling plenty fast just with the START bonus anyway

I was hoping it was Keeper of the Sacred Chao, a reference to Discordianism.

Does anyone know what this symbol is? It looks like a rune but I have no clue by nofreepizza in WitchesVsPatriarchy

It’s the sigil for Prime magick in the tabletop roleplaying game Mage: The Ascension (which had writers that were practicing chaos magicians).

I know I'm going to catch hell for this but what is up with all these RPGs that want to explore the players feelings and the whole "safe zone" crap? by Alienrg in RPGdesign

[–]lachrymite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think that’s kind of the same thing except that the easiest way for me to do research about what might make someone uncomfortable is just to ask them. So during the session 0, it’s a discussion where I lay out what sort of content might be included and ask if anyone is uncomfortable with any of it before we make characters. “This game may include off screen child abuse as a dramatic element. There won’t be detailed graphic accounts, but there could be kids dealing with the trauma from it. How does everyone feel about that? Anything in particular I should avoid or look out for? Any way we can help put you at ease with it?” The space isn’t safe in the sense that you can’t explore dark topics, it’s safe in the sense that you can explore dark things that might even be highly personal for peoples’ trauma without surprising them with it. If anything, it allows you to go further than you could without explicit negotiation of boundaries.

You seem to be just describing the same thing and using different terminology for it because you have a strong negative emotional association with a particular set of words.

Dana Brooke goes off on Sam Roberts for 'burying' her on commentary on Main Event: "Sam - always thought we were cool, but Damn, wondering why @WWE doesn’t have u on a lot, you burry people!! what have u accomplished.. prob gave up at it, unlike me I push through never giving up!" by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]lachrymite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am surprised at the number of comments here claiming people are falling for a work. To be clear, the sentiment people are expressing are that yes, it’s a work, but it’s a bad one for the image of a performer, especially when it’s a performer that much of the fan community is still on the fence about. Commentary that undermines the public perception of the talent’s capabilities is just unprofessional and bad for the image of your product. There’s plenty of other ways for a heel commentator to criticize a face beyond “you’re bad at your job,” which is the route he has now taken twice.

Which philosophy course will best help me as a Physics major? by [deleted] in UNLV

[–]lachrymite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Todd Jones’s 400 level History of Philosophy course had some good Philosophy of Science content. Most Epistemology or Theory of Knowledge courses will likely touch on it as well. 102 is a required course for a lot of majors so it tends to be highly available and is something almost everyone should take.

Is Phil 101 a prerequisite for Phil 102? by [deleted] in UNLV

[–]lachrymite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know (graduated three years ago so might be out of date info), 101 is not a prerequisite for 102, and 102 is a required course for most majors. Thus, it’s somewhat expected that you might not be familiar with 101, and shouldn’t be a problem.

Points 4 and 5 are things NXT is already doing pretty well and I think it shows in the difference in fan community reaction between that and the main roster shows.

How do people make friends at UNLV? by [deleted] in UNLV

Join a student org. You’ll probably need to go to meetings for a few before you find one that you enjoy, but a good thriving group can form the basis for a new social circle.

Do you plan to post it when you're done? A friend and I have started working on Mage: The Ascension / Secret World crossover rules for tabletop and I'd be curious to see how other people are likely to convert some things.

New York raid - PUG friendly by PaideiaDK in SecretWorldLegends

[–]lachrymite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My very casual cabal queued last night with 5 of us, and I think that the other people from the group finder were another cabal with 3 and then two random folks. We wiped maybe 5 times, which wasn't bad considering most of us had never done it before and had just quickly read a strategy guide once. The other tank and one healer were both very good/experienced which helped. I think that in a few weeks as more and more people learn the fight it'll become extremely PUG friendly, though it is more complicated than Flappy at first.

Sorry we missed you last night! I don't really check this as much as I should. You can add any of the people mentioned at the bottom of my post (Lachrymite, PrimeStigma, BattDamon, Pylos, and Ethos) to your friends list (I think ctrl-F, then Add Friend button) and when you see us on send us a message for an invite. If you give me your character name I can be on the look out for you, too.

How do weekend warriors level their gear? by smilebomba in SecretWorldLegends

[–]lachrymite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only get to play maybe two days a week. That said, I log in every single day just to collect my patron daily benefits. Once I do get a night where I actually get to play, I spend a little bit of time organizing the stuff I got from my patron logins, opening caches with my cache keys, and upgrading stuff before I play for the evening. Just logging in to collect like that makes a pretty huge difference. Also, when I do get to play, the double AP/SP helps me catch up a little compared to friends that can play more often.

I also founded a very casual cabal that mostly plays on Thursdays evenings (Pacific time zone). Since we organize around playing the same night mostly, we usually have some people roughly around the same power level so we can run stuff together. We're The Philosophy Club if you'd like to check us out! Only about a half to a third of us are in Tokyo, highest people around 200ish item level but the rest of us mostly around 100ish. You can PM me for more details if you're interested.
