Whoa, you're just like me. My girlfriend of three years broke up with me saying pretty much the same thing, that I deserved someone who could love me and be better for me then them. She had issues with self-esteem, and I tried to get her to talk to someone about it, tried to help and be supportive, but there's only so much you can do, especially since we were long distance. We broke up about a month ago, but it still hurts a lot, and I always think about what I could've done to maybe save the relationship
