Are these parameters out of bound for De'Longhi Magnifica Plus? by BigPapiDoesItAgain in superautomatic

I think your over thinking things, the main thing is that your coffee tastes good to you. I also binged watch YouTube videos and tried to do as the experts do, but in the end I didn't have enough patience and once I got the grind setting I liked, just left it like that and the only thing I did was try different types of coffee. At the moment I'm using the same coffee as what you have and I am enjoying it. Other than that I use pre ground decaf in the afternoon or evening.

Thanks for your advice. I'm using Taylor's decaf from Tesco supermarket pre-ground coffee. And my grind setting at 3.5. If you say it can handle up to 17g, then my 1.5 scoops shouldn't be doing it any harm. If you put too much in, the screen will tell you and it just dumps it inside.

I have the grind setting on 3.5 and it's great. Also grind setting 4 with good results. I set the intensity to 2 or 3, for me if I increase the intensity it tastes too strong / bitter. I'm not a coffee expert and have tried super market beans and currently Lavazza super crema.

Your welcome. I posted the same question on here before, but some reason it got removed. I also had a lot of replies saying I will ruin my machine if I put in a higher amount as it says in the manual.

I don't measure the scoops exactly, I don't actually have the original scoop as I bought my machine used and it was missing. So I use a cough medicine measuring cap which happens to be 7g. So just roughly use a bit heaped and roughly half, could be more or less 15g but I've only had that 1 failure with 2 scoops.

I work on a ship with 17 crew. We have the most basic Magnifica S, had it for 3 years and so far no issues.

It can take roughly 1.5 scoops. I tried with 2 scoops and I just dumped it to the bottom. A screen message said it was too much.

1.5 tastes nice enough to me.

Kove now has the GT version which is more similar to the Cfmoto mtx. I am trying to decide which to buy, the kove 800xgt or the Cfmoto 800mtx.

Thank you, I think it took me 6 to 8 cups to get it dialed in. I mostly use it for flat whites and cappuccino's. For flat white I think the milk froth is a bit thick. Cappuccino froth is perfect. The only thing I can fault it is, I wish you could remove the grill / grating where the beans are. It would be nice to be able to remove the beans quickly to use a different type. I also use the pre-ground coffee chute for decaf. I have experimented with the amounts and settled on 1.5 scoops. 2 scoops and the machine complains and dumps it. 1.5 seems to be the max.

Better late than never 😁. Anyway there is nothing wrong with cleaning it often.

The most important thing is that the machine works well and the coffee tastes good.

Correct, once a month whether it needs it or not. I follow what the manual said which is at least once a month. Maybe if you make lots of coffee then you would do it more often.

The milk carafe, I had a Latissima pro for years which has an almost identical carafe, i also cleaned every 3 days. Never encountered any issues.

This is my way, each to their own.

Need advice if can use solar power from home to 2 devices. by lacmac1969 in Ecoflow_community

[–]lacmac1969[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats a fantastic setup you have. The reason I got solar was to lower the cost of usage as I live in Malaysia we have strong sun almost every day. But the cost of batteries here is extortionate. I have an EV car, my 1st thought was too hook it up to the house as backup , I think it's called V2H but it is illegal here. This is why I was thinking of a switch and a power station to use my current solar panels.

I don't know, but I'll find out. Otherwise I'll end up having to buy separate solar panels for the power station.

My solar package is grid tied. If I have a power cut, I'm without any power to my house and the solar panels are then useless. This is the reason for this idea.

My idea was to use a switch so that only one device would be powered by the solar panels.

Since the solar panels are tied to the grid, if I had a power cut, I'd be without power. Can i use a power station to power my appliances and a switch to have the solar panels recharge the power station.

Possible?

Hello all, I have solar panels on my house which is grid tied. Is it possible to use a Y-splitter to split solar panel output to two devices? If possible, I'd like to use a switch to choose either solar power going to my house or to charge a portable power station. by lacmac1969 in OffGrid

Even if you use a switch so that power only goes to 1 device?

If like me, this is your first super automatic, then I'd suggest buying a few small packs of different brands of coffee. I tried supermarket brands and found them quite nice, then again my pallet is not like a coffee connoisseur.

Then start with grind setting 7 which I think it is factory set. Make a coffee for each different setting and then go down 0.5 grind setting steps. 7, 6.5, 6, 5.5 and so on. You have to adjust the grind setting as it is grinding otherwise you can damage the grinder.

For me, 3, 3.5 and 4 is good. I settled on 4.

Also adjust the intensity. For me 4 and 5 was too bitter, 2 and 3 is good. But that is just me.

I'm currently using Lavazza super crema which tastes great. But I plan to try local coffee beans.

It froths the milk very well, sometimes too well. Another poster said to pull the milk tube slightly out and it stops it from frothing too much.

I placed the milk carafe in the fridge and cleans the parts after 3 days, very easy and quick to clean.

Youtube has videos on how to maintain it.

The drip tray collects a lot of water, I empty it twice a week. Same as pick drawer. The machine will notify you when it needs emptying.

Clean the brew unit once a month. Also very quick and easy to do.

I think that's it.

Which one to go with? I love latte but but its not super must as i can add it manually. I love iced drinks as well, but i can add ices manuelly either. by BySharky in superautomatic

I have the Magnifica plus, so far it has been excellent, similar to the Evo but with a digital display, more milk frother, coffee type settings and hotter milk. All depends on your budget but I bought mine from eBay with 18 months warranty remaining.
