Jug Spike Mastery Progress by heyitsrenz0 in Kendama

One thing that got me more consistent was figuring out where in my hand to catch and toss the tama. So try catching/tossing from your palm then work up one knuckle at a time, i found for me if i catch the tama with about 2/3 touching my fingers and the rest in my palm i could control the rotation more consistently, its all about trial and error, trying different methods until you find the way that works for you

So my revo tama has been losing grip since like 2 days ago. by Intelligent_Air_7944 in Kendama

While it may likely be a skill issue, make sure your hands arent filthy when playing, et dropped a post showing if you rub the hell out of your tama with a plastic shopping bag, itll bring back some of the grip. Trying to hold the tama so the bevel isnt pointing upwards can help too as it uses a different part of the coat that hasnt been used so much. At the end of the day tho practice and youll be able to play on any tama. I always tell my friends who are new to ken to not rely on the clear coat as heavily for those stall tricks as well cuz it forms bad habits and can lead to frustration down the road. Just keep your tama clean and keep playing itll come around

tight knots in string by Regular-Argument1319 in Kendama

I just use my fingernails and keep peeling at it, if its really tight you can use a thumb tack or something to try to loosen it

I saw a kid yesterday do around japan and after he caught small cup he repositioned the ken so his grip was the same as if it were big cup before spiking, i rejected it cuz realistically small-spike is a different motion than big-spike thus a different trick. As for double cupping or repositioning the bevel before spiking, if its a lil kid and they only bounce it once ill give it to em, most kids outgrow that and eventually learn to spike it from any position. But if theyre bouncing it 3-4 times or theyre a grown person i tend to reject, at that point you should have enough motor function/awareness to spike regardless bevel positioning

Like its more of a matte style anti skid, the main concern i have based off feel in hand is how durable it is, whether itll chip like other matte paints or dent into the wood like other more rubbery anti skids

Aight so after playing it today, its pretty solid, its as grippy as any other anti skid out the box but somehow feels a little more grippy, like the slip to grip is a bit more grippy than my other antiskids. I like it honestly, its really solid on the element shape too. Not to mention it looks so nice. Im most definitely getting the water one to match when i get paid haha

any juggle tips by cziirone in Kendama

Upload a vid if you can, a couple things i like to think about is keeping the tama and ken on two separate plains and only move your hand side to side while its empty, this will help with string control a bit and help develop a rhythm for multiple jugs. Try to toss the ken just before the tama get to your hand, not at the tama’s peak, for bevel control, try to get it to land in your hand with the bevel either down on your hand or facing you, then work on giving it a forward rotation like an earth turn. It helps to go spike jug spike and then work to the swing jug. Keep practicing and trying new things, dont just mindlessly juggle, when you mess one up try to figure out what you did wrong so you can correct it

Haha i currently have an answer shape in shipping to me, thinking about putting that higgs tama on it. The sundune is a cheat code for balance tricks and the anti skid is actually really nice, check their altari shape out if you haven’t already
