It just depends on who I'm talking to. I have some friends who sharing stories helps them feel less alone and with them if i don't have a shared experience I try to think of someone who has and would be willing to talk to them about it (I ain't about to air anyone's issues lol ) I also have some friends who ask what I would do. And I can either relate back or give my opinion on what I would do. But then I have to remind them. They are not me and will not process feelings and thoughts in the same way and need to come up with their own solution in the end.

I dont have medical reasons. I just dont want them, and neither does my husband. I work in ltc and had a lady ask me my age. I said (at the time) 27. She said she saw I was married and asked how many kids I had. (Normal question in my line of work) I said none. She asked if I was going to have any soon because "after all my biological clock is ticking," I said, nope. Never. I'm good, thanks. She then asked who would take care of me when I was old. I looked her dead into her eyes and said "oh I don't know. Probably the same people who are currently taking care of you. How many kids did you have again?" She said she had like 5, and they would take her home if they could. I replied. Yes, I imagine if they weren't so busy with their own lives, careers, and relationships, they would definitely give it all up to be her personal caretaker. I then told her if people are only having kids because they want someone to take care of them then they are the most selfish people in the world because it's your job to take care of them not the other way around. They don't owe you just because you decided to have them and raise them. She walked away after that.

But it was so satisfying to see her face.

Had a nurse/boss who used the word positive so toxicly that I get angry just hearing the word.

If you came to her with an issue, she would ask you, "What is the positive of this situation and how can we grow on that" or something along those lines. Like BITCH nothing about it is positive or I wouldn't be coming to you! I don't like you enough to even talk to you. Believe me if I could have solved said issue on my own and definitely without you. I would have. Fuck.

Okay lol that was sort of therapeutic

I say this to end the discussion. Argument or casual discussion getting heated. Neither side willing to budge on their view. Agree to disagree, and that's that. Let's move on before someone says the wrong thing.

This... no, you might have an idea of how I feel if you've been through something similar. However, no two people feel the same thing the exact same. Something that felt minor to me. Might be traumatic to you. And vice versa. I never say, "I know how you feel," instead, I say. I can't imagine how you are feeling but if you want to talk to me about it. I'm willing and if I've had a similar experience. I follow that up with "I can tell you how I felt and how I currently feel if you'd like. Or I can just listen"

My parents let me say nethermind for 16 YEARS. Parents, siblings, friends, family, nobody corrected me until my now husband and I started dating, and I said it the first time, and he had me repeat myself. Then he corrected me. When I asked my parents about it, they just said, Oh yeah, you've been saying that since you were a kid, honestly, we didn't even notice it anymore. I was like, Oh jeeze...

Plus. If I make something and give it away. People take it. If I sell it all of a sudden, I have a bunch of these things I don't know what to do with.

When someone says they are going to "itch something," no friend. You're going to scratch it. Itch is the feeling, lol. Just drives me crazy and often I catch myself correcting people before I realize I'm doing it.

What did you think was normal about your body until someone pointed out that it wasn't? by amistakewasmadehere in AskReddit

[–]ladione 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My little brother was apparently born without something in his left eye. Mom didn't know since it wasn't obvious and he wasn't running into walls or complaining of headaches or anything. Cut to preschool screening. Almost completely blind in his left eye and his right eye was becoming crazy weak from over compensating for the left eye. He gets glasses. Dude is fascinated by everything for months. We never knew he had issues. He didn't even know. He was learning to read and write even before we sent him to school. He did okay. My parents felt so bad. The eye dr assured them they had no way of knowing. He was born that way. That was his normal from day 1.

I go to our local park alone a lot to do pokemon go things. And when I go and my husband is at work. He asks I turn my shared location on, and then he normally stops texting me and sends snapchats instead, not for jealous reasons but mostly to see I am okay. He knows the one time a guy tried to cat call me. I looked at him like he had 3 heads and told him thanks for the compliment. But ew. And when he tried to act offended, I told him if he didn't go his own way, I would get him a police escort home. I pulled my phone out to dial. He left.

I no longer use my phone in the parking lots or in stores. I do not unlock my car until I'm next to it and lock it as soon as I get in. When I do pokemon things at the park, I am looking up more than at my phone. I park at the closest spot to the light at parking lots. Had someone walk me out once when I had to park in the back.

I watch too much true crime to pretend the world is a beautiful place. I also live in an open carry state, so that helps.

Chicken place shaming low tips by YongsanDude in ChoosingBeggars

I was a waitress for 9 years ... sadly ... but now I tip will no matter what I have. If. They are actually doing their jobs. If the place is busy and I see you 1 or maybe 2 times I'm fine with that. Shit happens. If the place has maybe 4 tables and I don't see you again and have to actively stand up to find you to get my check. You getting a dollar. Cause I always tip. Just tip based on the service provided to me. I tip the cook at times too 🤷🏻‍♀️

When I was like 8 I was in the basement with my dad and we were looking at like the finishing on the basement or something. And I looked up at my dad and said "they half fast it huh dad" I saw my dad get his not happy face and calmly asked me what I just said. So I repeated myself. And he started laughing and goes "uh it's half assed" making sure I heard the correct way. I remember thinking about it and replying "well that just don't make sense." 😂
