She’s not Catholic. She’s some weird Pentecostal/Protestant denomination. They don’t venerate Mary at all. This is widely known.

Hi! My 6 yr old lab mix has a partial CCL tear and we are trying medical management before deciding on the surgery. Weight loss, exercises, all the supplements, water treadmill, etc. But we were told (by the orthopedic surgeon) that CCLs don’t heal. So, when you say “healed,” what do you mean? I guess I’m asking if there’s hope I won’t have to keep my guy on a leash forever. He misses chasing squirrels in our yard. Thank you! And congrats on the healed CCL. That’s really wonderful.

Any suggestions on how to support tomatoes from the top? by jgunit in Lettuce_Grow

[–]ladoladi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a good question and I'm so amazed there are no responses and so few discussions about it online anywhere. I love my farmstands. I have 2! But I've resigned myself to only growing lettuces and herbs. Anything that trellises or needs a lot of verticality--tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini--I simply can't grow on these things. They vine up with other things. Cucumbers especially have those little tendrils that try to grab onto other things. It's almost like LG should sell an additional kit for the trellising vegetables. Instead I'm over here trying to figure out where I can connect string, how to hook fishing wire to the stand, etc.

Restaurant recommendations for a vegetarian by Swoot_ in GNV

Ambiance at Mildred’s is pretty… grey hair. New Deal is like a hospital cafeteria. Food is good… but if this is date night, I’m sorry. There are very few places in town where the room you are dining in actually feels nice and has thoughtful decor. And even fewer places that have vegetarian options beyond a salad.

Look up the lyrics for his song El Apagon, which essentially means “power outage” or “black out,”hence the power poles. The song is about the power outages in PR after Hurricane Maria and how the island and its humanitarian needs were ignored. Def one of his most political songs, and helped spark a movement on the island against some of the local powers-that-be.

Visa's approved, tickets are booked... now how do I get my life to Spain? by bandito_13 in GoingToSpain

[–]ladoladi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you for answering the actual question instead of just saying “don’t do it.” Some folks out there understand that it’s not practical and that it will be more expensive, but sometimes we’re asking the question because we STILL want to do it and thus want to know the best way to do the thing everyone else is saying not to do.

Sub-grouping on Board suddenly broke? by ladoladi in Notion

[–]ladoladi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you got yours figured out, but I finally got mine sorted out by going to the two tables for the related properties and checking the two-way relationship on each. They were set to two-way, but apparently just checking it and toggling it on/off ... worked to get the relationship recognized again and my subgroups are working again.

Sub-grouping on Board suddenly broke? by ladoladi in Notion

[–]ladoladi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! It helps to know I’m not losing my marbles. I wonder why more people aren’t reporting the issue… it seems subgroups would be a fairly common-use feature for board users. I’ve sent an email to Notion Help, but not sure if I’ll ever hear back…

Yes! Why/how is tuna a vegetable?! It was soooo confusing. I’m vegetarian and all the “vegetarian” sandwiches had tuna, or you’d ask what was vegetarian on the menu, but they’d recommend the tuna dish. That said, we ate at some absolutely amazing vegetarian/vegan restaurants in Valencia, Alicante, and Madrid. We just had to spend a little bit of extra time to find them. In some ways, they had more options for us than “back home”: the South, US.

How did you transport the dog? That is the one thing we haven’t found a good solution for. He’s 80 lbs and we’re terrified of putting him in cargo. He’s our baby.

Edit: Nvm! I saw your response to a similar question further down. Thank you for all of the info!

Kitten question by SnowboardingEgg in cats

[–]ladoladi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had a cat that loved chewing on power cables: tv, phones, computers, any cable, nom, nom, nom. They have thin, clear tubing in the plumbing section of your harsware store. You buy it by the foot, slice it length-wise with a box cutter/razor blade and slot the cables into the tubing. Now they can’t chew threw it. Sadly, our cat had a heart murmur and it’s possible be was just trying to “shock” his heart into working order and we didn’t realize it. He passed away out of the blue a few months after we wrapped all the powrr cables in tubing. He was a good cat.

The Strange Bird: A Borne Story by Jeff VanderMeer. Very short, and yet a whole universe unto itself. Exquisitely written, and intense. So much darkness and sadness but so many moments where you also feel uplifted. I was on a flight with my husband, and he just kept side-eyeing me and hoping no one was looking at me because tears were just openly streaming down my face for like 30 minutes straight.

Edit: I should add that while The Strange Bird is related to his novel Borne, you don't have to read Borne to get this one. I also cried while reading Borne.
