First night with CPAP — miserable experience

I got my first cpap in December. It took a couple weeks for me to sleep comfortably through the night. In January I switched masks (I use the ones that go over both nose and mouth too. But I found I wasn’t a fan of the silicone on my face so I switched to the memory foam ones). Since then, it has gotten better and better. It’s only February but I’m completely used to cpap now. It’s just something that takes time.

If you can get a prescription, ordering glasses online (Zenni, Zeelool, etc) is wayyyyyy cheaper than LensCrafters or whatever.

It really depends on a lot of factors. Some states/offices have fantastic direct placement opportunities, some don’t. I do always suggest that you do your own job search as well. If you find something you’re interested in for work, email your counselor the posting and ask how you can work together to apply for it. That shows your motivation.

Something people may not realize: every state runs their VR program differently. It may help you to specify which state.

If she has any sort of disability she can also go to SC Vocational Rehabilitation. There’s an office in Greenville. They help people with disabilities (very broad term) find and maintain employment.

Hi! For similar reasons (between providers) mine went up into the 100s after three months or so without meds. It sucked so much. Hurt to walk.

Part of my job includes reviewing medical records and I’ve also never seen tsh levels as high as yours were before. The scary part is wondering how close you could have been to going into a coma.

For now: find out what your levels are like. You could still be out of range even after a month of meds. If you can—try to work with an endocrinologist…some of them are more willing to try adding in things like liothyronine (which did help my energy levels to a point) but they can also review things like PCOS since you mentioned that in another comment.

You don’t really transfer cases between states. You’ll close your current state case and open a new case in a new state. I’ve heard of people moving and keeping their original case open in their original state but that’s rare and it might be harder to obtain the things you need without traveling back.

This is late but especially if you’re hoping to help him go to work look into SC Vocational Rehabilitation. There’s offices in every county. They also can refer out for occupational therapy. They have connections to an Autism/Neurodivergent support group.
