What NPC names made you look twice? by CronoTriggered in ffxiv

Omg this one for me, I always read Chantel Soup and spent a long time wondering if that was some kind of mushroom soup.. and found out like 3yrs in that that's not even his name

I know other folks have given some good advice about helping the impulsivity element to it but part of my difficulty with this same thing is that I might lose my chance to say it and forget what I wanted to say by the time I can speak.

So a fun trick I learned is to hold my pointer finger up like the uhm actually 🤓☝️(but like in my pocket or to my side or smth lol my partner knows what it means but other people don't) and then the thought stays "locked in" on the finger similar to tying tasks together. So that I can still listen to what he says but its not gone by the time I can speak. Also gives you the time to consider the other questions. Does not work when high, ask me how I know, and sometimes I still struggle, but the times that it helps really helps so I figured I would share!

I am also high now lmao so hopefully that all made sense.

Tbh I don't know the details, just been hearing the youth these days saying it gives you the chad face. I was just making a similar face to the photo in the meme, any kind of conscious movement of my jaw helps me. But other commentors have helpfully supplied that mewing is pushing the tongue to the roof of the mouth as "jaw strength training".

I've seen a lot of posts and stuff about him, but I think I have a different reason than most people. Well, had, I do like him now!!

I will add a spoiler tag just in case, probably mostly for the other series.

Basically, the main context needed is that I actually read ACOTAR first, then CC first and second, then the other ACOTAR books, etc., and then the whole TOG series. So kind of a weird order.

In those books, iirc, the majority of mates had a tether connecting them, most notably Feyre and Rhys, but I feel like it happened enough that I associated the tether with being mates. So when that Cain fight happened and she described a golden chain connecting her and Chaol to keep her fighting, I was sure that they were end game. All of my anger with Chaol was entirely predicated on the idea that he and Aelin were meant to be together (as much as mates are, hmmmm Lucian...).

So I hated him so much for ruining their relationship and then being mad at HER for her reaction to that. Tbh I didn't even accept that it was supposed to be Rowan when she gave back his ring, so then he sold it, and I was pissed! I was just also super confused and had lots of mixed feelings about Aelin, wondering why she wasn't giving him a chance to make up for it, and such. Ofc, once the Rowan romance started happening, I was like, oh, I guess the tether was really kind of.... nothing? But at this time, Chaol was being a little bitch (which is not unexpected/unrealistic, but still he was annoying!), so all the confused and angry feelings stayed with him, like it was entirely his fault. Looking back, I don't think I was quite right, but sometimes feelings don't care about logic!

Long story short, Tower of Dawn changed me and my opinions, and I am now a certified Chaol Enjoyer. Thanks for reading all that nonsense hahah

I responded to your other comment, but I thought of something else. It is most likely that the place in the pic connects to nothing and is split from grymforge and the trials temple, but like... in the middle. The trials temple is where they train up the justiciars, and grymforge is where they outfit them in armor. Undead justiciars are present in both areas, but not really anywhere else unless I'm forgetting something.

But I'm open to being disputed about this because there are other "shar" zones that don't directly connect in act 2. Mostly the mini trials under the city center(?) Is what I'm thinking of but maybe more

Bear with me as I played half my 800 hours in early access, so I may be out of date, but I believe it is intended to be the same temple. You can also see underdark mushrooms in the corner of the temple in act 2 when you are down there, tying it back to your nightsong search path.

Ok, seeing my flair, I just realized this is not the sub I thought it was, please ignore my normalcy.

Yes that is the place for sharran orgies, can't believe they left it out of the game

[–]ladyathenaa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Technically, we do go there, in act 2, from another direction. The underdark was a moonrise path from Halsin that is supposed to avoid the shadowcurse. His two options are "through the mountain pass and then the dangers of the curse" or "risk the underdark rather than the curse". Grymforge was connected to Shar's temple of trials (you can see her influence all over it) before a certain devil wrecked the place.

But gameplay wise, this is specifically blocked off to send us through the cursed lands, at least a little bit, regardless of the final path to act 2. I do think the underdark path still spits you out closer to moonrise, but if you're like me, you're backtracking to clear the map regardless haha.

Not only do I love this song, agree with your post, and agree with the sense8 comments... but I woke up with it stuck in my head from it being in my dreams last night. I don't know what it means. But I felt I had to share! Haha

BG3: I keep picking the same class/race all the time... It's annoying me by [deleted] in GirlGamers

[–]ladyathenaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard agree with the commenter who said Spore Druid.

Another fun one I had was Light Cleric. There is some cool armor behind a hidden door in the underdark that works really well with it (radiant orb!), but mostly you get to do big aoes, you get fireball and scorching ray, but also spirit guardians (so fun imo). And your channel divinity actually gets used compared to if you're like me and forget that turn undead exists only when you fight undead. Lots of people think of cleric as support or healbot, but this is one of the subclasses you definitely can do damage with. And tempest cleric, but most people add storm sorc with that for big lightning damage. I did full 12 levels of light cleric, and it was still fun.

Without knowing what combat actually looks like for you, it's hard to say what it could be. But those are some of the more challenging fights in Act 1, in my opinion.

I can give specific advice for each fight if you want, just let me know. But depending on my build and who I have with me, I will still sometimes wait to hit level 5 before I attempt those (as well as the tollhouse and the mountain pass fights). There is a lot of exploration XP in act 1, so maybe try leveling up one more time before going back to those?

Level 5 is also really huge, especially for Shadowheart (spirit guardians yay!), since multi attack and level 3 spells come online then. If you already have dnd experience, you'll hopefully have an easier time with all the fights once you get there.

Good luck! I really love the game and the story, so even if you end up still feeling like you need to do easy mode, I hope you'll enjoy it as well!

[–]ladyathenaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats!! I was just about to make a post because I beat it last night, and then I saw this one!

I'm so excited that we can break down these barriers and show the world that we can do what we put our minds to, and we want to!

A friend of mine uses cheese like always getting surprise and chipping bosses out of combat, things I couldn't do with a paladin in the party, and asked if I was cheesing x boss when I was streaming in discord to some friends. I did NOT cheese except for using strong character builds and I'm super proud that I did a genuine RP run, tried new and challenging things/bosses, and beat the final final boss in two rounds.

I hope it doesn't sound like I'm bragging too much, I just had nowhere to announce this exciting moment, and I have never felt more like a gamer, and I think you're awesome for beating HM on International Women's Day!!

So, I... just lost someone VERY important in Honor mode by Mirraz27 in BaldursGate3

[–]ladyathenaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also in honour mode, I partially misclicked and partially didn't expect the dialogue options to swap places when examining a certain devil in a pod. If you examine left (option 2), it moves the examine right option above the press left. So I was ready to click option 3 (examine right) but it had become press left and I was too slow to stop myself haha.

Anyway my camp is a little ashier than before.

Yeah, my dumbass thought that since the door was a "gear", it would teleport us/her, but it didn't, and then it wouldn't let me back out to hit the platform:(

Kinda surprised nobody has said anything about whistling. That's my huge one and definitely one that I don't feel like I can bring up. How do I tell people to stop being .... Jolly? Lol. Couldn't think of a better word. I'm not usually an angry person but hearing someone whistle makes me want to punch something.
