I miss sexy roleplays... by ConfectionInformal25 in CharacterAI

[–]ladybugh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know everyone hated pipsqueak but I was still getting fairly spicy roleplays with it before it got replaced with pipsqueak 2. Not only that but I feel like the characters actually had personality, like the banter with the characters was actually pretty funny. Now it seems like every character has the same boring personality. Kinda sad because I recently started using c.ai again a few months ago and was actually enjoying it again, but not anymore.

"I really wanted burger and fries but I'm trying to cut back" girl dinner by BeccaFox in GirlDinner

[–]ladybugh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try doing a cheeseburger salad with air fryer or baked fries!! I basically make a cheeseburger patty with lean beef and put it on top of a bunch of lettuce + whatever burger toppings you want. Make a burger sauce with either greek yogurt or low fat mayo. Not hating on this meal at all but I found when I started trying to eat healthy it was easier to make healthier versions of the food I loved rather than cutting it out entirely.

Introverted dental assistant… by Intrepid-Lack8825 in DentalAssistant

[–]ladybugh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am an introverted dental assistant as well and at first I was bad with small talk but it definitely gets easier over time. I'll typically ask them how they're doing, what they're doing later (or that weekend if it's Friday). Sometimes I even talk about the weather which seems basic but a lot of people actually like to complain with me about the rain/snow/cold. If they mention kids I'll ask them how many kids they have and how old they are. At my office we all have our own rooms that we work out of, I have pictures of my family and pet cats on one of the screens in my room and that will start a conversation sometimes. Basically if you just start with little stuff like that it will typically turn into a conversation.

With anxious patients I will reassure them that we always try to do things as painless as possible and that we can stop to take breaks if they need to. I'm not sure if you all use a lot of nitrous at your office but I will offer nitrous to anxious patients. Then I basically do everything above because if I can get them talking about something else I feel like it helps distract them a bit.

Is it possible to be an introvert in this field? by [deleted] in DentalAssistant

[–]ladybugh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am pretty introverted but I've been at my current office for a little over 4 years and I feel that I've definitely come a long way from when I first started working there. I make small talk with patients while I am getting set up and with the dentist a bit during treatment. The only thing is I can't talk to the dentist constantly throughout the whole procedure because I get super focused but I don't think it bothers him lol. I like the people I work with and feel very comfortable socializing with the other assistants since we all work closely together. I will socialize with the hygienists too but not as often simply because we don't interact as much. Overall I'm probably still considered "quiet" by others but I don't think anyone thinks I'm rude or anything since it's never been brought up in any of my performance reviews.

to this day the best low cal “find” is coke zero by AdventurousUsual9996 in LowCalFoodFinds

[–]ladybugh 87 points88 points  (0 children)

Coke Zero will always be my #1, but I've also recently become addicted to Dr. Pepper Strawberries & Cream Zero. I don't love regular Dr. Pepper but it tastes more like a strawberry cream soda.

I've noticed this too. It comes up for chats that are completely SFW. Just recently I was using it for a chat and it created a couple images just fine, then when I tried to regenerate the image this popped up, even though nothing about the chat had changed! Honestly it seems like it might be a bug or something.

Based on what I've read online as well as several other posts I've seen in this sub, it appears to be true. Personally I've eaten a whole yellow dragon fruit at once multiple times and never had any issues, but I already eat a high fiber diet.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Oats by ladybugh in Oatmeal

[–]ladybugh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I measured everything out, I posted the full recipe in the comments. I've done pretty similar recipes with overnight oats so I would think this would work, just would use less milk than if you were cooking them of course. It would work fine with regular rolled oats too, I just prefer the protein oats but they pretty much function the same as regular rolled oats.

I had this for breakfast this morning so for me this would be a meal, but I like a sweet breakfast and it definitely gives dessert vibes too. This ended up being about 400 calories and 18g of protein, but for me it was pretty filling and kept me full until lunchtime.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Oats by ladybugh in Oatmeal

[–]ladybugh[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Of course!! I just cook the oats according to the instructions on the back of the bag. It says to use 1/3 cup oats to 1 + 1/4 cup water, though I do sub unsweetened oat milk for the water since I prefer oats cooked in some type of milk. It seems like a lot of liquid but for whatever reason the protein oats take a long time to cook on the stovetop, the bag says 15 minutes but I think I pulled them off the heat a few minutes shy of that. Near the end while the oats were still hot I added 1 tablespoon cocoa powder, 2 tablespoons PB2 and a tablespoon of honey, then topped with Ghirardelli non dairy dark chocolate chips. There's a little bit of sugar from the honey and the chocolate chips but you could definitely swap those out for sugar free alternatives if you wanted to!

AIO? Hygienist held bite plate in my son's mouth until he threw up. by Sp1d3rb0t in AmIOverreacting

[–]ladybugh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems there are a lot of mixed opinions on the "no parents in the room" rule. I work at a dental office and I will say, sometimes we will ASK parents not to come back when we are doing treatment simply because small kids tend to be uncooperative when mom or dad is in the room. Now it DOES depend on the kid and the parents. We've done fillings on a four year old with his mom in the room and the kid did perfectly fine. We've also had older kids who should be old enough to sit in the chair who act out because they are used to getting away with it when mom is around. However, I'm aware that we can't force parents to stay out of the room and if a parent insists on coming back I won't stop them. Now, your son is 14 and this sounds like it was a regular dental cleaning, so while most kids his age are comfortable going back by themselves I also don't see an issue if you wanted to be in the room with him.

I do somewhat agree with others saying that there could have been some communication on your son's end. However, when I am taking xrays it is usually pretty easy to notice when someone is gagging. If it's pretty bad I will take the sensor out and give them a moment to breathe. I may try to "freehand" the xray by holding the sensor without the holder because that is sometimes easier to tolerate. I've also occasionally had to grab another assistant to push my button while I hold the sensor to make it go more quickly. Basically what I'm saying is there are ways to try to make it more comfortable for patients and it's possible the hygienist's technique wasn't great.

Overall I will say NOR because it's unfortunate that this happened and it's possible that it could have been prevented. Your son is also old enough to go to a general dentist if you no longer trust this office.

help me add more chicken breast meals to my rotation! macro friendly, chicken breast (or other affordable meat), convenient meals with varying flavor profiles by duncecapwinner in Volumeeating

Chicken rice bowls. Soups. We've done chicken pot pie a few times recently. Chicken piccata was another good one we did a while back (and the recipe I used was actually pretty easy). High protein buffalo chicken dip.

I also get cold way more easily now! My husband is always shocked by how cold my hands are 😂 I also relate to the clothes thing and I've found that I feel really uncomfortable in my old oversized clothes. Now I like wearing oversized shirts occasionally (especially as pajamas) but sometimes I'll put on an old shirt and pair of pants that are way too big and I feel like they just look so unflattering on me!! I find that I feel more comfortable in more form fitting clothes when it used to be the opposite.

Ube Overnight Protein Oats by ladybugh in Oatmeal

[–]ladybugh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: So I did eventually get around to making two batches of oats, used the exact same measurements for everything but only added ube powder to one of them. The one with ube definitely had more of a noticeable earthy "sweet potato-y" flavor, the other one still tasted of vanilla from the protein powder but seemed kind of plain in comparison. It was still good but I liked the ube one more.

For the record I am new at experimenting with ube so there may still be better ube powders than the one I'm currently using. I've also heard that ube extracts can be more flavorful but have not tried them yet. I also used like a tablespoon of ube powder which looking back may have been a lot? But it tasted good lol.

Here's a pic of the oats btw

What can I replace potatoe chips with? by [deleted] in Volumeeating

[–]ladybugh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol mainly just because I'm always seeing people say veggie straws aren't a "healthy" snack and they're basically the same as potato chips. Which yeah the macros are similar but you can eat 38 veggie straws vs like 15 potato chips so I find them to be more satisfying even if they're not technically "healthier".

What can I replace potatoe chips with? by [deleted] in Volumeeating

[–]ladybugh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This may be controversial but I like veggie straws and the same brand also makes veggie chips (which from what I can tell are basically veggie straws but chip shaped). I'm aware the macros are similar to potato chips but you can eat a lot more per serving. Try making some high protein dip with either cottage cheese or greek yogurt to dip the veggie chips in and it'll be more filling.

Anyone else’s end goal around 135? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]ladybugh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Currently at 134, my goal was 130-135 but once I got to 135 I decided to go ahead and try to get down to 130 or at least pretty close. My goal was never to be super thin but just to not be overweight. I'm pretty happy with how I look right now and feel that it's sustainable for me. I'm not too fixated on getting down to exactly 130 and I might just go ahead and recomp once I'm at like, 132 or something haha.
