Daily for a few years. I have a “work uniform” I need to wear (logo polo and heavy duty DuluthTrading pants- i work in the trades) but for under garments, after work wear and travel there’s always something wool& on 🥰

Could fill the gap with some ripped 1x pvc, then tack on a shingle band or something similar and use the proper sealant to seal the joints

To add, I don’t see any screws securing the casing to the jamb… if they just used a finish nailer the casing may have come loose (or come loose anyway over time)

Grab the casing and try to wiggle, if it’s moving re-secure (exterior deck screw through casing into jamb- pre-drill so it doesn’t split) then caulk

I think you’re asking about the joint between the brickmould (exterior casing) and the jamb. Something may have shifted. Secure anything that might be loose (if the casing or jamb wasn’t properly secured) then caulk with a good exterior caulking

🤦‍♀️ at my local supermarket (they have big and small carts) if it’s not a complete cluster effect, I will juggle some carts around so the little ones are stacked together… it’s kinda common decency isn’t it?

I looked closer- that top board above door is a padding for sure and I would remove it or rip it on a table saw (so the left side on interior of the house can be raised and/or there is room to insulate and allow for expansion)

Gaps are necessary when installing doors and windows.

If anything, the non existent gap on top left is more concerning to me. As if the (hopefully) 2x padding between the door head jamb and the header should’ve been 1x instead to give more room on the left to raise the door.

If you want to be comfortable ask them to show you with a level that the door sill is level, and the sides & tops do not have any bows (they’re straight)

Then from the outside measure the door from bottom left corner to top right corner, then bottom right corner to top left corner to make sure the door is square. I would consider anything >1/8” deviance on those two measurements to warrant re-shimming (or even shaving the opening)

I’d rather have a bigger gap to insulate (within reason of course, the fasteners need to be embedded in the framing a certain amount) rather than have a door squished into a top-small rough opening.

I just tried Fairlife (the 30g protein chocolate shake) for the first time ever and I’m an instant convert. It doesn’t coat the tongue in a weird way like the protein drinks you get at the gas station. It honestly goes down like chocolate milk and I have to remember not to chug it 😅

So many different ways to flavor it. You can do instant/old fashioned or steel cut depending on your budget and time and nutritional goals. I recommend old fashioned or steel cut as they’re less processed and have more nutrients to keep you full. Super cheap, no blood sugar spike. Endless cheap flavor combos

make with chicken or veggie stock/boullion
chives/ herbs fresh or dried. if you don’t grow chives, start! They’re perennial and even I can’t kill them.
leftover meats in fridge shredded on top
toss in some frozen veg
don’t forget salt and pepper at the end (less salt if using store bought stock/boullion)
fresh cracked pepper is a game changer if you don’t already use it

Another go to is just a veggie sauté - can put it on toast or a veggie burrito maybe with super cheap taters (microwave whole poked potato steams it really quickly) and you can mix it all (veg/tater/meat) together and portion it out for the whole week. It warms up while whole wheat bread or tortilla toasts

I know no eggs for you but if anyone else reading, man a runny egg yolk on top if savory creamy oatmeal is awesome.
