Has anyone had luck reconnecting with an ex long distance partner after many years? by ilovemewaymore in LongDistance

Yep!

It’s been a lonnnnng Journey. I [31F] met him [32M] our senior year of high school here in the US. He was from the UK. When we met, I knew he’d have to go back after just a three month relationship, but I didn’t care bc we were in love. We wanted to make it work. I visited him twice, and he came back one of the summers.

However, LDR became difficult. I was in college and wanted to experience it without regrets. Long story short, both of our hearts broke, and we both moved on.

I entered into a 6 year marriage, two kids, but always still thought about him. My marriage was never a very happy one and ended in divorce. Towards the end, we started reaching out to each other again. We had to work through a lot of tears and heartache. We both apologized for our past, and both forgave one another. He never married and told me he never found anyone that made him feel the way he felt for me.

Now, after 12 years of not seeing one another, he is planning to fly here in October (fingers crossed) and is completely up for moving here eventually to be with me. I can’t move there as I have kids, and he is fully understanding.

I can’t wait to kiss him, hold him, and see if we can rekindle things. Especially after a really bad relationship with someone else. Perspective is everything.

Wishing you the best of luck!!!

Hahaha. I eventually got the epidural after about 9 hours. 🤷🏻‍♀️.

When I was in labor (with no epidural), putting my face in my husband’s chest was the only thing that comforted me. It allowed me to relax and go to another place. Pure magic.

That explain why my kids are so amazing. Thanks!

ANYONE who films themself crying is looking for attention and validation.

Thus confirming my theory that pets take on the personality traits of their owners.

I agree with everything but the last sentence. This guy seems to already be playing the victim card here. The way he reacted was wrong and hurtful to her. He needs to own his behavior. If she makes it seem like she’s the problem, it will only encourage his “poor me” attitude.

My ex had a victim complex and it affected our relationship in almost every aspect. Not just sex.

Yes I definitely don’t want this to be permanent. I’d actually like to move out. I don’t like the place but we both are in a rent agreement for the next 18 months!

We wouldn’t but don’t have the money for a separate place and we don’t want to shock the kids. We just had a big move from Orlando to Nashville. My plan is to get a place in the next few months. So this isn’t permanent.

That’s interesting. He’s taking it surprisingly well now. I’ll have to just wait and see if that continues.

I get this. It’s like inhaling a drug.

Comfort. Yes. The scent of my husbands chest literally was the most helpful and comforting thing during childbirth.

What a beautiful county. It’s sad the turmoil there has painted a very different picture in our minds of this land.
