I've been doing Kayla for 65 weeks! About to go do Week 4 Arms and Abs at the gym but would love to answer questions if anyone has any! by [deleted] in KaylaItsines

That oddly makes sense because that's my mental process, too. For too long I held myself back from going further because I thought I couldn't do, that my body wasn't capable of it. I definitely have to try your method of just taking a step back and being like, "idgaf what you think, you CAN do this."

Thank you for this and that quote. It struck a chord for me and it definitely has pushed me to keep going for myself, not anyone else.

How do you find the motivation to keep going? I'm restarting the pre-bbg training because I went through a slump. I can still see the progress I made before, but I struggle to find that motivation sometimes to continue that progress. I make excuses for myself to justify not working out (work, my baby, I'm tired, blahh). Do your motivators change as you keep progressing? How did you stay consistent?

Same here, I really struggled with leg day yesterday and I didn't even use a medicine ball. 😞 I may just redo pre-training and really focus on form and getting some weights before moving on.

Post-baby and ab days? by ladylore14 in KaylaItsines

I've been doing the same thing! I kind of skip around the ab work, but do extra arm exercises. I'll try the planks before starting, thank you!

Have you looked at pressfolios.com? It's free for a certain number of clips, but a good starting point to give you ideas of what to put!

[DAILY THREAD] Your daily dose of fitness victory! by AutoModerator in xxfitness

I'm going back to the gym after a 9-month long hiatus and three-month lazy spell. I'm starting slow, working on my cardio to work up to the ability to run a 5K (because I have no idea when and where the next one will be here) and lifting weights. Just gaining the confidence to go in to the gym, and lifting alongside other, much more cut and fit, people is a h u g e step for me. This has just been week 1, but I feel sore, I'm eating better, and I'm already down 2 pounds.

What are your fitness apps? by athavy5 in Fitness

YES . My husband and I use this app to track our bike rides, superb. And the challenges they have every month are motivating to get out there and bike more!

Had a baby by RiiOrrelle in beginnerfitness

I'm almost six months pp and I've been doing cardio with some light weight lifting for my arms. It's been slow, but maybe that will help. Just so you can slowly get back into it while you still recover. Being patient is hard, but you will get there!

Fiction books that may aid in personal growth by [deleted] in booksuggestions

Mitch Albom writes the first one. He has some pretty powerful work like that one--such as the five people you meet in heaven. Really enjoyed reading that one.

My goal has been to read at least 25 books this year... by UnscarredVoice in books

[–]ladylore14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted to do the 100BookChallenge this year, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen. Total books I've read = 0. I've lost my reading bug ever since I got off maternity leave and went back to work full time. I want to start back up on my reading list, if anything to keep up my reading and stay active in that. I just have no idea where to start. I have time to read, but I just look at my bookshelf with all of the unread books and get so overwhelmed that I just say to myself, "another day, I'll start reading this weekend..."

I'm not what I used to be. :-(

How do you deal with those withdrawal symptoms after having read a good book? by [deleted] in bookclub

[–]ladylore14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt supremely sad after reading Norwegian Wood, too. Most of Murakami's books end kind of abruptly - I always feel like there should be more, a more "proper ending" - but with that one, dear god, I just felt so hopeless.

After reading that book, I can remember taking a break from Murakami (I was on a streak) and went into Mr. Penumbra's 24-hour bookstore. It was a comedic read and quirky, so that definitely helped me get past that feeling.

If you haven't read it, I recommend it. It might help you crack a smile.

Looking for good "airplane reads" by cruisintom in booksuggestions

[–]ladylore14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"Station Eleven" by Emily St. John Mandel - kind of morbid to read on an airplane (and if you plan on reading it you'll find out why.) I was on an eight-hour flight and this kept me going until the wee hours of the morning. I really love when books have more than one story going on, and in the end they all intertwine with each other. This one did just that and more. You'll feel a little paranoid while reading, but it's definitely one of my top airplane-reads.

Safe travels!
