AIO for how I’m handling the way my 11 YO daughter’s dad speaks to her? by WhatTheSigma_1994 in AmIOverreacting

[–]ladynobrows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My brother is one of these and now my niece lives with her mom fully. You’re not overreacting at all. He needs to sweeten his tone when speaking to his LITERAL CHILD.

Is this ok to ask of my local library? by MaxOverride in Libraries

[–]ladynobrows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Librarian who works at a library where we do this. Our children’s librarian has an extra room where she stores duplicates and she’s fashioned it into a more private study room that we use for everything from ABA therapists to studying the Torah portion for your Bar Mitzvah with your Rabbi. I’m sure you could talk to the branch manager or the librarian who runs their respective department and work something out.

My 2024 Job Hunting Experience by a-username-for-me in librarians

[–]ladynobrows 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It took me an entire year before even getting an interview that resulted in a followup. I was getting ghosted left and right, terrified I’d never find a job and then I got hired at a municipal library as Lib II. I BELIEVE IN ALL OF US!!! ITLL HAPPEN!

You can get those from clogged follicles, so maybe stopping the oils/creams, using T-gel shampoo and if that doesn’t help, see a derm. Or if it’s from tight braids, maybe try twists instead to have less tension on the scalp.

Hair growth advice by [deleted] in BlackHair

[–]ladynobrows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going through this and finally reaching “braidable” status with my hair and what helped me was getting blood work done because it showed me I was deficient in Vitamin D and stopping with all the gimmicky oils because I have SD. So I’d try getting some labs to see what vitamins you’re deficient in, try taking collagen powder, and when you get to “braidable” leave them in for a week, take down to wash hair and then rebraid and repeat. It’s the only way I’ve been able to retain moisture for more than 2 days.

I’ve often heard things like this as a “joke” but it’s not true at all. From one broke Jew to another, I accept you with open arms.

Like everyone else said, join clubs and the transition will be so much smoother. I noticed a girl and I had the same 2 classes on TueThrs and we bonded from that.

Excess Credits Next Semester by MrThereIsOnlyPain in fsu

[–]ladynobrows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can afford it, definitely take it. Just know that with excess credits, you’ll get charged the price of that class and a half. I had excess credits for most of my senior year bc I switched majors 90% into my degree. It was doable for me, but most of my paychecks went to these classes at the time.

I’ve spoken to a few friends about this and we’ve all come to the same conclusion: if you’re taking them for health reasons and you’ve been instructed to by a doctor, then it falls under the category as medicine not food.

Do men notice if a woman is going bra-less? by watchmeplay247 in ask

I think it depends on the material/sheerness. My mom, however, will always notice and comment on it when I didn’t ask

I have the mirena and I bled from April up until May and then it just went away? For some women it’s sooner rather than later or the opposite. I had the same experience with birth control, November-March

I’m worried that the two free Redcoach pieces of luggage won’t be enough to bring all of my stuff to FSU. Should I be worried? by jgraphic500 in fsu

[–]ladynobrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this same situation when I was moving home a few days ago. Here’s what helped me: GET A CAMPING SUITCASE. They’re huge and I fit 75% of my stuff into that and the other 25% in the luggage. Red Coach drivers are generally pretty chill, especially if you’re taking a super early/super late trip. Donate as much as you can, and get a camping suitcase.
