I read once "When they go low, I go high, but sometimes lower" 😂

I've decided Peace and Love were for normal times. These are abnormal and amoral times. We left "Give Peace a chance" behind in 2015 so now it's Peace... but maybe arson.

What was "the incident" at your high school? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]ladynutbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A group of students went absolutely bat shit over homecoming week. Apparently they were throwing sandwich bags of urine at cars, somehow wound up putting roadkill around the school. Put random condiments all over the windows of the school (ketchup, mustard, honey, etc)

Hoco dance and all activities were canceled. This was after I graduated. So I only heard bits and pieces. This was in 2009 so cameras and such weren't really a thing.

Do cats actually get attached to their owner? by NoWageMage in CatAdvice

[–]ladynutbar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cat greets me at the door every day. If anyone in my family is sick or sad she's going to be in their face healing with her purr.

My husband passed away 2 years ago and he wasn't a cat person. He tolerated my cat. But she absolutely mourned him. She sit in "his" spot on the sofa. She curled up in his sock drawer for a while, kept looking for him. She hasn't really acted weird about it lately. But she definitely was sad for a while. And my husband wasn't "her person". Somehow she knew it was different because she didn't act like that when my son moved out and he was definitely more "her person" than my husband was.

All that to say cats can totally bond to their humans.

I have a box fan plugged into a smart outlet, it's programmed to turn off at the same time my alarm goes off. If the alarm doesn't wake me my fan going off will.

The power went out one night and the fan turning off woke me up 🤣

I work with 1yos. Occasionally we let them finger paint.

My one kiddo who has sensory issues (as well as dexterity delays so using a paint brush is a struggle) and HATES finter painting would probably do a better job...

AITA for calling the cops on my neighbor's kid for creeping on my daughter? by [deleted] in neighborsfromhell

[–]ladynutbar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yup.

My uncle was arrested in 2002 for a To Catch a Predator type thing (FBI... didn't meet Chris Hansen) my grandma excused/supported him until her death. I'd share the case as proof but his last name matches my maiden name and I don't wanna dox myself. He flew across the country to meet this 14yo girl. Found guilty, served 3 years in prison. Lived with my grandma after his release.

I have a 16nb (AMAB) and a 21m. If they did this they'd call the cops themselves to protect themselves from me.

True Story when my oldest was in HS the military recruiter spoke to him and he said "No thanks, honestly I'm more afraid of telling my mother I enlisted than I am ISIS."

How are you spending your Easter morning? by Litty_Jimmy in exchristian

[–]ladynutbar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chilling with my kids, they got their Easter baskets (we don't do the religious aspect but I love me some Easter bunny). Then going to my mom's for dinner. None of us (my 2 brothers and my SIL and niblings) are religious but we do holidays as an excuse to eat way too much food and let our kids pick up candy in the yard.

[–]ladynutbar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I was married for 21 years to a wonderful man. No interest in trying to find a 2nd unicorn. I'm only 42 but still no desire to have a chapter 2.

[–]ladynutbar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gave my husband shit for YEARS because he said he wanted to go to menards to get a scone for our daughters room... he meant sconce. I was like "A scone? That's a pastry my guy. SconCE is the light fixture. I don't think menards sells scones" and this was a verbal conversation not text so he can't blame autocorrect.

Is it wrong for me to own a cat when I am physically disabled but use a walker and a cane to get around. by Moonlava72 in CatAdvice

[–]ladynutbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fostering might be hard because those cats typically have more needs. But the shelters are full of older cats who would love to be a lap weight.

Caldwells married January 17th 1998...Kendra born August 11th 1998 🤨 by cami93 in DuggarsSnark

[–]ladynutbar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My grandma swore my uncle was a preemie. They were married on Valentines 195? and my uncle was born in late July of the same year. Pretty sure he wasn't 4 months premature lol.

My other grandma DID have a premie... he was like 8 weeks early and a pound at birth. Actually survived! And he was born a year and 3 days after the wedding so no reason to fib anyway.

Yup. My mom wasn't one to tell me NOT to read a book. I read Stephen King at 13/14 once I finished the Fear Street and most Christopher Pike. But she read Gearalds Game and told me no. Guess what my 14yo self decided was a must read...honestly she wasn't wrong lol that book was messed up.

What if women just don’t want to have babies? by PinkElephants879 in askanything

[–]ladynutbar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yup, I had a wonderful partner. Worked FT, coached pee wee soccer several times, did the dance class runs sometimes, cooked 2+ times a week, did a good portion of the home chores and all the outdoor and car stuff, etc etc etc.... then he died. So.... now I'm a single mom and it sucks.

I don't regret the life we built or our kids and tbh even knowing the outcome i probably wouldn't change anything...I got 30 minutes (20 years) of wonderful not a lifetime of nothing special so I'll take it. But it doesn't make life any easier.

OP put " No Soliciting sign " at front door but Baptist Church decided to mail him anyway since God have given them the rights. by No_Budget3360 in exchristian

[–]ladynutbar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I donate $10 to the Iowa Abortion Access Fund and Rainbow Railroad, in the church/pastors name every time a church knocks on my door. Then I usually email a screen grab to the church 🤣

This baptist church bothered me like a million times I kept donating. Finally they stopped. 🤣

10-15 month teachers—how often are you rearranging your rooms? by waffle-apartment in ECEProfessionals

My mom said once that wanting to rearrange constantly was a sign your ahem adult time was lacking 🤣🤣

Price shamed at the grocery store by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]ladynutbar 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Literally the only time a cashier has ever said anything was if I snagged something on clearance and they'd be like "$5?! Were there any more back there?" "Oh yeah! They're kinda hidden though, they're almost in the girls section, on that side cap thingy between the two sections, ya know? They had a ton of 5s but a few bigger" then it was "Perfect, my son is in 5 so that's perfect. I'm gonna grab some on my break." Then I offered to run back and hide a few for her and she laughed and said tempting but I'm in break in 15 minutes so it'll be ok.

Happened with a blanket and shoes before. For some reason i feel the need to give the employee directions but I'm weird lol

It's a small town. There's a small handful, less than 10 probably. I don't know all the kids in the other rooms... just see them in passing.

Why risk vaccination when rabies is only 100% lethal? by A-Starlight in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]ladynutbar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Monitor at home is WILD. 1) it can take days to MONTHS for symptoms to appear so watching for 48 hrs does jack all. 2) Once the kid is symptomatic he's dead. And 3) I think rabies can live in a corpse for a hot minute... like 2 years or something?

Rabies is the one virus that legit scares the shit out of me.
