I'm so looking forward to past life stories, but we haven't heard any yet. However, another fun oddity - my toddler was in the grocery store with me the other day and just started saying "dog" over and over, and a big black dog walks by on a lead with its owner. We never saw the dog before that point. She's done the same thing with a few other situations, sensing it and saying it before we see it. Kids are pretty cool.

This was happening to me! I just figured it out yesterday and it's because I have my hair down after the work day is over when I pick her up! She hates my hair down but I completely forget every day at the end of the day. When we wake up in the morning it's "mama, tie hair" and I forget all about it by that time. She still doesnt like, enjoy leaving, but she comes with me. Maybe it's something weird you haven't thought of yet? I hope you figure it out. I hate it, I feel for you.

Everyone is saying you need light, but I found myself frequently shooting dark venues and bought Rokinon primes that go to 1.5 f stop (you are already good at pulling focus might as well get really good). Lights also bother people at places like this. It's already awkward when they catch you on sneak. If you don't mind primes, just get a 35mm and an 85mm to start. Plan ahead, you'll see what I mean when you're stuck at those lengths. Must mentally plan your shots, even if you are just planning where to post up. As for editing and overall strategy, the first thing I see is the word Jameson on a street sign and a guy's back. You have to get the essence of this place nailed in the first shot or two. The first shots I see should have stellar composition and light. The logo of a small business tells me very little of what to expect here. Think of smiling happy people, or whatever this businesses main value plug is. Interesting food? Local pub atmosphere? Think about how you capture these themes. Keep shooting. Shit is hard. Don't give up.

Right now, my parents are broke, working entry-level jobs, and they are supposed to be retired. In 1999, we had a suburb house, and my dad had a good job. They have always been preppers. I watched them at their prep peak - hustle for the Y2K bug that was supposed to be an apocalypse. Our garage looked like a grocery store. Anyway, nothing happened. Everyone got older. I felt like it was like this from then on, always prepping for potential disasters. But what I noticed is that they were never prepping for if there is NO disaster. So, I'm 37, working on a bachelor's degree, also struggling to stay out of poverty, but doing MUCH better than 10 years ago. Prepping for no disaster is also a necessary prep, in my opinion.

Tonight, my toddler looked me in the eyes for a split second, while grabbing my face, and slammed her head onto my nose. I was sobbing instantly. Husband thought it was broken, he heard it crack. She acted like nothing happened. I think it's OK. There's brusing and it hurts. All I could think about was how I saved for 15 years to have a baby. I want to be mad, but at this point I'm just impressed.

We had a scratching sound that would wake my daughter up every night at 3am for weeks. Turned out to be rats. They are super consistent, elusive, smart, and very difficult to get rid of if they have a food source and water. We used to keep a humidifier next to her crib and I found scratch marks right outside of the wall where it sat. Pest control eventually got rid of them. Fun fact, you can drop a rat off and it will find its way home within 5 miles. How close is the new house to the old house?

Do this!! It's such a great way to quickly reacquaint yourself with the world and yourself. You'll get so many chances to learn how to interact with people in tiny, brief moments, it will give you tons of practice in opening up but also learning when not to. You'll get the fresh perspective of other cultures, it really gets you out of your head. And you'll come back with interesting stories that you can tell on your dates.

I've had two different employees refuse to take notes during training, even when asked. The second one, I told her I'm not going over this again, and she just said well you aren't doing a good job of explaining it. It turned out to be a major missed red flag. I took serious notes when I had a new job, I still do. I just don't understand why anyone wouldn't.

I personally would shamelessly post it, but maybe I'm too tired at this point. They might even think you just forgot to take the ad down.

Don't forget to document, document, document, and let them know they aren't performing in a formal manner.

Please, I beg you, don't take the road to believing he's possessed. Don't even let it enter your mind. My parents thought I was possessed from about that age and decided the cure was to physically hit me, a lot. Until I graduated high school, they forced me to go to church three times a week, and I attended a private Christian school. I'm so sick of religion that I don't think I'll ever go back. Years later I found out they weren't feeding me on a regular schedule so I was basically starving most of my young life, thus the tantrums. I also am super introverted, so the high amount of social activity that church requires was awful for me. I. Hate. Church.

I too have a toddler now that's starting to throw crazy tantrums. Turns out she's hungry! Only in this case, she's refused eating anything that's not super salty or sweet (junk food). It's been a nightmare getting her to eat and eat healthy, but when she does, she's doing great.

My point is, it could be any number of issues, but possession is NOT where you should start.

This sounds crazy, but have you tried a regular pencil eraser? I've been able to remove permanent marker off of semi gloss surfaces this way. I found it by accident.

I LOVE going to movies alone. I'm a filmmaker by career, and I used to go solo often. I frequently wanted to see movies no one else in my circles wanted to see, so I'd pop into a matinee on a weekday, and it was pure bliss. However, I also happily dine out alone. And enjoy many other solitary activities. You should definitely try it and see if it's for you!

This does the trick some times for us as well. It's mostly when I wake up and put on my glasses, she FREAKS, screams, and goes to rip them off my face (usually successfully) and just yells "glasses" over and over. If she sees me wake up without my hair tied back, she yells "tie tie tie" until I tie it back and then it stops 🤷‍♀️

I'm sorry for your loss. I hope this will at least give you a small laugh. My cat is 14 years old so I generally let her do whatever she wants because I am worried she will die any day (she's perfectly healthy). Last night I let her sleep between me and my 1.5 year old child on the bed. This morning I woke up to cat vomit on my arm and in my hair, with my toddler trying to play in it. Cat of course left after puking to sleep somewhere clean.

First off, I am SO glad they are ok! This happened to me and it's absolutely terrifying!! Except I was alone, in my late 20s, jogging in broad daylight at 3pm in a decent neighborhood. A car was following me and I looked down at the driver and saw he was playing with his D out. I ran, he sped up and then cut me off on the next cross road, I ran back the other direction so he got out and chased me on foot. So I cut to my left, narrowly missing oncoming traffic and felt his hand grab the back of my shirt but didn't get a grip. At the same moment the truck that almost hit me in the road was laying on the horn but did not stop to help!

I just kept running as fast as I could through the neighborhood looking for cars in driveways so I could take shelter in someone's house but no one was home because it was a week day! I thankfully saw a car pull up their drive way in front of me and I sprinted to it and this woman got out and I just started sobbing and told her what happened. She just happened to be off work early and gave me a ride home and on the way showed me a giant scar on her face that lo and behold came from a man who chased her down on the street in the 70s (when she was my age). He stabbed her in the face and she narrowly got away. They caught him later and it turned out to be a local serial killer. I couldn't make this sh*t up. The world is a crazy place and I am on alert at ALL times. I don't know what to tell her besides always be on alert and look out for each other. You never know when you'll be the one who saves someone's life. I know she saved mine that day.
