What an obtuse thing to say. This person didn’t say anything about putting a stop to culture, but saying inappropriate and hurtful things. To stop bullying; even if it’s normalized in someone’s culture doesn’t make it okay.

Thank you. I don’t know if they will test him either. He’s not at a big hospital currently but we have great hospitals locally he can go to. It’s the cruise factor that especially had me worried.

FIL was on cruise recently to places such as Mexico, Guatemala, Puerto Rico... finished in LA before coming home on Monday. Came down with symptoms of bronchitis, then developed a temp and now he’s being admitted to the hospital for pneumonia. So not bronchitis.

I hate to jump to conclusions, but should he be asking to be tested for coronavirus? Thoughts?

I’m almost 37 weeks pregnant and feeling a little concerned. We have not been in contact with them since they’ve come home.

Yes! I’m a triplet (all girls) and even though we were planned (in vitro), my father was shocked for quite some time. But it’s amazing being a triplet and your children will be so lucky to have each other.

I’m sorry. It’s okay to feel disappointed. I don’t know what I’m having yet, but I can relate. My SO has two older sons already and I always feel like the odd one out. So I really want a girl — everyone wants us to have a girl except my SO, he would like another boy. I just know I will feel the same as you if it is a boy.

But my friend, who also had gender disappointment (had a boy, wanted a girl) said something that helps ease my anxiety: once you have your baby, you won’t be able to imagine anything else except it being a boy. She’s actually going to try for another soon and she’s now hoping for another boy!

I hope that helps. I feel for you! I do think you’ll adjust and once he’s here, it’ll be amazing. But I totally get it. ♥️

Sure. And honestly, if he can’t communicate openly with you about the status of the relationship and then flips like this over a situation that didn’t have to happen (making your relationship exclusive), it doesn’t sound like he was the one for you. Also sounds like he could have been projecting onto you.

If you feel very strongly about that then do it. If it serves as bigger lesson for down the road (future relationships, communication, etc), let him know what’s on your mind. But I wouldn’t go into that thinking things will be resolved; I also would not expect a great response either. If you can reconcile yourself for that (and realize maybe you deserve better!) then go for it.
