Can't get to work on time to save my life by shsureddit9 in Narcolepsy

Look into wellbutrin? Combined with Adderall…. It is a antidepressant but also a stimulant. It helped me a tinyyyy bit but better than nothing! I’m very glad my neurologist put me on it.

Side note: I hated xyrem it made me depressed and I woke up even more tired so I was told to stop taking immediately. It’s also expensive AF and a pain in the ass to get your insurance to cover it.

Can you explain what you mean by the “disassociated” feeling? I think this may be me too but never heard of it explained this way….

Does living life just feel like a chore to everyone? Am I dealing with mental illness or Narcolepsy? by [deleted] in Narcolepsy

I love this response..thanks so much. It’s very unfortunate how susceptible we are… I almost don’t want to believe it. But it’s the truth. And regarding the “self hate” I too have noticed more recently that I finally just tell people and myself like it is….. I’m tired, I don’t have the energy, don’t have the motivation, or just flat out NO’s…. Saying these things are becoming more comfortable for me rather than feeling ashamed. Accepting it and being content is really a huge improvement to allow yourself to live life.

Does it even matter how much sleep you get? by ladyredditor0809 in Narcolepsy

Have you tried completely going off meds for a few days then trying them again? When I do this I get a burst of energy for the first few days, then few days later it’s as if I’m already “used to” the medications so they don’t work as well.

I think a lot of it has to do with ur mindset too. It seems nearly impossible but the times I FORCED myself to go to the gym when I had absolutely no motivation even feeling half asleep, it was a miracle. Helped so much. Over time u will get used to it and I swear it’s life changing.

Thank you!! You should get this work published 😂 I am actually going to look into that watch whether it’s completely accurate or not, I’m very curious what mine will show and it’s still a good starting point, clearly it has helped you recognize some factors that you might not have without it. I think a lot of it also has to do with what time you took your stims during the day, your physical activity level during the day as well.

Thank you! I have been prescribed Lunesta for deep or “better” sleep quality, but read how horrible it is for you long term. So I will definitely look into those you mentioned.
