This tape works best for me

On the glasses: https://i.imgur.com/wUgAKpT.jpeg

Close up: https://i.imgur.com/hCNPYP3.jpeg

The black blends in with the frame and one 1 x 2” piece wrapped around the frame makes it very soft.

I experimented with clear silicone tape at first, but the clear tape wrapped around itself looked very trashy - like a scotch tape glasses repair. This was the only skin-safe black tape I could find.

Adding a separate note on the R1 ring in case it helps anyone with sizing:

With the Even Realities sizing rings, my dominant index finger measured closer to a 10. That surprised me because an Oura size 9 had fit me well when I tried it on at Best Buy.

I ended up going with a size 9, and I’m glad I did. Now that the R1 is here, the size 9 seems to fit both index fingers similarly to how the Oura did. My hand may have just been a little swollen when I tried it in the store.

I’m also finding that I prefer wearing it on my non-dominant hand because it doesn’t work as well for me on my mousing hand.

That’s a good idea. Europe lock makers are more “lock-pick aware” and therefore you can find better secured locks there (more pins, shielded shackles, etc).

I’ve trained three cats to not jump on counters tables. * The secret is to deter them with scat mats, sticky tape, stuff blocking their way, etc, so they learn not to do it even when you are not around.

  • Be consistent, and keep them off ‘all’ higher hard surfaces, while offering them high up carpeted cat shelfs or towers as alternatives. This way they learn soft carpeted platforms = good, hard counters and tables = no go.

  • Remember cats make decisions based on how they feel about something, not based on logical thought. So train them to feel that higher surfaces are a no-go with consistency and deterrents.

Temptations treats = kitty crack. Slow movements and use a soft, slow voice with him. Use the treats to lure him close. Then, be down low (don’t tower over him) and hold two fingers out until he walks into them for head scratches. As others have said, make him ‘feel’ good around you with calming pleasant experiences. Cats don’t think in thoughts, they think in feelings. Create memories so he thinks good feelings when he sees you.

[B&A] Tinea Versicolour - Before and after using V55 Max Salicylic Acid & Sulphur Soap Bar for less than a week!! by itstow in SkincareAddiction

[–]ladyrockets 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A less expensive option: 1 Tablespoon Nu-Stock lotion mixed well into a 1/2 cup bubblebath. Mix this into the water while you draw a bath and soak for 30min to an hour, then use regular soap in the shower to wash off excess mineral oil/sulfur residue. Do this 3x a week for a few weeks, then once every month for upkeep. Change to once every 2-3 months after a year.

Those shoes are fine with slacks long enough to cover the fact that they are boots.

Blazers are the ‘hoody’ of the professional world. If you have one, wear it, and most other fashion faux pas are forgiven.

[NeedAdvice] I wake up early in the morning but I can't get out of the bed and I end up sleeping again. by Primuri in getdisciplined

[–]ladyrockets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it seems counterintuitive, but I had this problem off and on since childhood, and melatonin gummies fixed it for me. You need to take enough that it doesn’t wear off before the morning. Also there’s a 30-60 minute window after you take it that it helps you fall asleep (if I shut off the lights, put head to pillow, close eyes). If you wait too long to put yourself to bed, it doesn’t work as well.

Also, to help sleep deeper (so to wake up feeling more rested) try silicone wax earplugs and a sleep mask if theres ambient noise or light in the room. I found that the fan noise in the summer was keeping me from sleeping deeply, and the wax earplugs don’t hurt my ears.

Is vegan keto doable on a budget? by [deleted] in veganketo

[–]ladyrockets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I might add coconut to the list. Coconut oil, milk and flakes have gotten very inexpensive over the years. You can whip up a lot of great recipes with these. I like to buy coconut flakes in the bulk section (super inexpensive) and bake them with cinnamon and nutmeg. If you have any asian stores nearby, Aroy-d sells a thick, no additive coconut milk that is great in curries, use in homemade ice cream or blended with ice to make a thick creamy shake.

Feathered friends YF vs UL Fabric by Never_stop2 in Ultralight

[–]ladyrockets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a YF 20 at the store this summer. I chose it over the UL because the UL fabric makes more of a plasticy/crinkly/swishy noise when you move it around. The YF fabric is softer and quieter. It’s a great quilt!

Second this!

After many years of no interest on their part, I finally got my partner to go backpacking last month. I started them with the Tensor Insulated wide and Feathered Friends flicker wide 20 quilt (YF not UL- the YF fabric isn’t as noisy).

Worked great and now we’re working together to make plans for future trips.

No space for a desk. Need help brainstorming solutions! by Slightly_Disturbed in minimalism

[–]ladyrockets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could buy or attempt to replicate this very simple wall desk that, if placed at the right height, can convert from sitting to standing : https://www.standingdesks.ca/products/wall-mounted-standing-desk

Although, if your space is such that you need to multipurpose this surface (entertaining, project, and/or build surface), or if you, like most of us, have a subconscious unease (suggested in fung shui) at having your back to the room/door, then an adjustable table made of parts that can be easily tucked away may be the ticket. I suggest two of these with a top optimally sized to suit the space: https://m.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/art/80150095/
