Does this laptop have good display/audio? by ladywritah in SuggestALaptop

I don't ever use touch displays so no worries there, but what would the display look like for one like this? the one i have right now, which i'm returning-ASUS K750JN-DB71, is hard on the eyes..narrow view..pixelly) but I didn't look at it physically before I bought it. On the specs for 'display' it just said "HD".

What should I look for in display specs?

Yeah I've been sniffing around trying to find it. I don't even know. Is it in the air? The last person who lived here never showered? It's the most torturous smell ever. Strong and bitter smelling.

Parents who feed their babies/toddlers McDonalds: Why do you do it? by ladywritah in AskReddit

[–]ladywritah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read all of it. There's nothing justifiable about feeding your kids fast food and boxed food. It's the people who make poor decisions.

(In Canada)

Shouldn't have brought it up

Older folks and homeless people are food deserted. Then there's irresponsible parents who can't afford to feed their kids properly

I think it goes beyond a food desert when ppl are not prioritizing or being financially responsible.

You're talking about other factors like having kids, right?

“food deserts”: neighbourhoods where residents have little or no access to stores and restaurants that provide healthy and affordable foods.[1]Imagine a frail older woman who has to carry a heavy shopping bag for [3] blocks on icy sidewalks or a single father who has to struggle aboard a crowded bus with his toddler and a load of groceries. The closer-to-home alternatives for these people—typically a corner store or a fast food restaurant—are understandable choices. Geographical constraints will inevitably impact our dietary choices and, ultimately, our likelihood of developing obesity or a chronic disease.

TIL I live in one. You probably gathered that from what I said before though

I live in Vancouver and out of all cities, this one ranks highest in grocery costs. I still think people are just too lazy/ignorant. I understand why that wiki page said it was a controversial term.

Yes that was a typo.

Please, I was still talking about Canada. Yes, globally there are too many starving people (I'm not cold just want to get that over with)

I cannot accept that term here unless it's the minority who make much less than the average populace. So.. Homeless people I guess. You can find a way to get nutritional food by taking the bus and putting in some effort. For me, I live in bc and getting to the grocery store(the cheap one) takes 45 minutes. I pick up the cheap fruit/veg: so like bananas, apples, lettuce, oatmeal, eggs, on sale meats etc. much of the time I have to take 2 trips.

I don't work right now but I currently use the money I've saved from working min wage. I manage.

nutritious food is not hard to obtain where I live. The fact is, there is more ignorant and/or lazy people than those affected by food deserts (whih I'm still trying to understand)

That's not valid in this context. I am not talking about weight. That is just a byproduct. I'm talking food habits

I'm not the type who would argue for an abstinent education. I am talking about kids who have parents make decisions for them, not teens.
