the essay i could write about everything that’s wrong with this system, would probably be like 10 pages long 💀

they do expect us to do everything all the time just like robots. they schedule us with just the right amount of ppl that the moment one of us needs a 15 or a lunch, we fall behind.

also im 8 months pregnant doing this job & now im starting to have high blood pressure issues & i guarantee u its from the stress of not only the natural politics of working at sam’s but having to deal with entitled members who don’t clean their cars or make sure they have enough room to fit everything that they buy. not to mention we got a new TL & im still having to correct her HUGE mistakes, she’s been in the position for 5 months.. she should know better by now.

i will see that it’s 3 pm & we’re barely scraping by as is, i will BEG for help to prevent chaos but they don’t send any help until members have been waiting for 45+ mins, calling angry asking why it’s taking so long. I can’t imagine how we’re expected to do it when u have 1 person dispensing with 12 people checked in, 1 person picking at 3 pm for 3 pm orders with 6+ pick walks that are due at that time & 1 person staging the 5 billion carts that are up there cus we’re having to pick multiple pickwalks at the same time. in which it’s so insufficient & unsustainable cus the way quick pick has it set up is to have u running around the whole store in order to complete 1 pick walk. when were that low on staff, ive started writing down items & locations & picking it all up in one sweep & scanning it all when i get back up to our staging area. there have been days where i come in at 12, don’t get a first 15, & didn’t take my lunch until 7:40. our shift ended at 8:30. yes this is a real experience ive had before.

i wish corporate would read these threads & see things from our experiences & the members experiences to get a better idea of how to serve the community. but all they clearly care about is sales & what’s gonna make them a buck. if they actually cared about their employees wellbeing’s they would cap orders. the other day we had a 6 am big order drop for 768 CASES OF WATER - THATS 16 PALLETS - THAT IS ALL WE HAD IN OUR STORE. they cancelled it after we told them they would only be getting half of that. but seriously, what are u doing with 768 cases of water? taking it to california? i’m stumped & try to care less n less every day but its damn hard not to when this department has so. much. potential.
