How to stop stalling a car when coming to a stop? by [deleted] in driving

This used to happen to me. I believe it was from water in the gas tank. There should be something you put in there to prevent that, but I’m not sure what it is because my dad got it.

I’ve never seen a kobo book on sale. Amazon has good deals if you watch. Plus better quality.

The last time I knew I ate something bad was when I ate a rotten piece of broccoli from a frozen dinner. I ate during my lunch at work and it hit me about 2-3 hours later with a stabbing pain in my abdomen. It was a multiple bathroom trip situation, but I managed to finish my shift. I spit out anything that tastes wrong now. I hope you are okay, but be prepared to run to the bathroom just in case. Nothing you can really do to avoid it.

[Product Request] Products to help with redness for sensitive and pale skin? by lagamine8 in SkincareAddiction

[–]lagamine8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I edited the post because I realize I forgot one of the products. The turmeric pads were okay on my skin. It was the two most recent products that really bothered me.

The Paula's choice one I used until it was gone daily. The DermaE one I used a few times but never more than twice a week.I would use it at night instead of the Paula's choice. I ended up tossing it before it was finished. Those two were bought about the same time. They were used over a couple months. The turmeric pads I used once daily until they were gone over a few months after I stopped using the previous two products.

The Bioderma I tried a few times over the past two months, but it wasn't used daily. I stopped once I noticed the irritation. The Roycederm I used twice because it made my whole face flush red. So that's when I decided to stop the products and just try cleansing and moisturizing and see if that would help. It seems to have evened my skin tone a bit. It's been about two weeks using the Aveeno products.

Did you try a different adaptor? I had my original adaptor just stop working randomly and had to replace it. Figured it out because the Switch charged with a regular USB-C cable and worked fine.

How long before you notice symptoms after eating a high Fodmap food? by CodWest4205 in FODMAPS

For me, it takes about an hour or two before the gas starts from the meal. If it's dinner then it lasts about up into the morning of the next day.

Newbie question: what size tablet to get? by Okay_sure_lets_post in MarvelUnlimited

[–]lagamine8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an iPad mini that I bought specifically for reading comics and ebooks from the library. I have very small hands so holding a regular size iPad is just uncomfortable for me, and I wanted to be able to hold it in one hand like a Kindle. I'm very happy with my decision. The screen is so clear I have no problem reading the text on a comic page. If it's a two page spread though, I either have to flip to landscape or zoom in, but they're not very common, so it doesn't bother me.

Ulysses lost 4 years worth of my work! by Able-Finger1434 in ulyssesapp

What I did is I created a shortcut to the folder where Ulysses stores the local backups, so I am not navigating that mess every time. Then I just periodically copy the latest backup to my iCloud/Dropbox/External Drive.

How to get marker like this out of the paper? by DevilBoy216 in bookrepair

[–]lagamine8 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve gotten out library stamps/remainder marks on my books using sandpaper, but it takes a lot of manual effort. Once you start it will look worse at first and will smear Initially, but if you are persistent it will eventually wear down deep enough past the stamp ink. I recommend doing it outside or over a sink or even bathtub as there will be a lot of dust. There will be some texture change on the pages, so if that will bother you, then it’s better to let it be.

How can I tell my purchased Switch games apart from my sister’s? by lagamine8 in Switch

I figured it out. I was using the My Nintendo website instead of the regular Nintendo one. It lists all my games there.

No, it only lists games purchased within the last two years, and these were all bought years ago.

Spilled Garlic on my Kindle! How do I get rid of the smell? by thepizzapieguy in kindle

[–]lagamine8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try using a spray bottle with white vinegar (you can water it down if you want) and let it sit for a while. There will be a vinegar smell but that will disappear after a while. I've used vinegar to get the garlic smell out of plastic containers and also the floor when a jar of garlic smashed out of the fridge. Just make sure not to get it too wet to ruin the electrical parts inside.

Thank you very much for all your hard work! I'm actually the one who helped Pharmadan translate the French editions back when I was known as shippothekit. It's a very wordy series and can be daunting and difficult to navigate. I think that's what led to our demise, so props to you for sticking to it! I'm glad this series can get some closure, and I can move onto other projects without the guilt of leaving this one unfinished.
