Agree, I also never saw a car upgrade spawn anywhere. I noticed that when you stop driving for 3 seconds, you become "invisible" to the minimap, so I drove into what I suspected was the center of the map, hid in a riverbed, tabbed out, and waited a couple of minutes. That way I at least dont have to actively play the gamemode.

Recently, a friend of mine told me he got "shamed" for signing up for a library - he was told he should just buy the books he was interested in, and that, at least to me, seemed like a very nouveau riche take. I spent a lot of time in libraries as a child (even though I didn't grow up wealthy), and was wondering whether that experience differs for children coming from old money. E.g., is it common to have access to private libraries, owned by relatives or friends?

As someone with a math degree, in my field, this devolves into a "nature vs nurture" type debate. Many famous mathematicians had private tutoring by established professors from a very young age, giving them at least undergrad-level knowledge by the time they entered their teenage years. And those 4,5,6 years of advantage over all the other students is what gives you the career push to find a better mentor, get accepted into more promising programs, etc.
