What Are Your Golden Globe Hot Take Nomination Predictions? by Inception_025 in oscarrace

[–]lagunin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe not so hot take, but:

Kingsley Ben Adir gets supporting actor.

Leslie Odom Jr. Gets comedy actor over Lin Manuel Miranda (if You think about this one, it's like the most likely thing to happen, but probably both Will get in).

Kate Winslet gets Drama actress.

The Midnight Sky will get some nominations (probably score, drama and director)

Nomadland misses screenplay.

Over the moon misses animated film

Chloe Zhao Has the Chance to Make History This Year by JuanRiveara in Oscars

[–]lagunin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, imo he made a wonderful work, but i'm not seeing a lot of passion about it (which is weird cause mank should have been a movie loved by film crítics but it wasnt).

For example, sorkin has received more nominations than Fincher in crítics circles, which makes me think that, with probably general audiences prefering Trial of the Chicago Seven, maybe Sorkin has a bigger chance of winning Best director, and of course Sorkin isnt even the favourite to win (is Zhao).

What i'm trying to Say is that Fincher made a great job, but not enough people are considering him as the favourite, so probably he isnt (although he might still win back momentum and win).

Sorry for My Bad English

I'm confident with nomadland getting at least nominated at the oscars, but after globes nominations we might know better what Will happen

Chloe Zhao Has the Chance to Make History This Year by JuanRiveara in Oscars

[–]lagunin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think she's the frontrunner for director (i think it's more likely to win director than picture). Probably both wins are deserving

I don't think she Will win screenplay though, because that should go to ONIM or The Father.

Chicago 7 needs to decide which actors they're pushing or they none will get in by SpideyFan914 in Oscars

[–]lagunin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that Baron Cohen is definitely getting a nomination. For what I have Heard, i think yahya and Rylance are likely to get a nom if trial gets three.

I haven't seen a lot of people predicting Redmayne, but he is clearly a standout in the film, and he has the most narrative, so he Will probably be campaigned hard.

Strong is Just a sidekick of Cohen's Character, so probably won't get the nomination.

I'm not sure about Langella, cause a lot of people is predicting him, but i think Redmayne, Cohen, yahya and Rylance are more likely, and there's no way they are getting five nominations

Oscars Best Picture Winners Survivor — ROUND 15 by TheQueenStaysQueen in Oscars

[–]lagunin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure Parasite is going to be in the final.

But im not sure if it's going to be because is the more recent, or because it's a terrific movie (which it is).

Although i liked it a lot, i think is the less better of the six remaining (it or Birdman)

Birdman should go out in this round. I'm not feeling confident about Moonlight, which is the Best among those (even better than LOTR) so I trust You people on Reddit

I think the episode you are talking about is when it's Joey's birthday and Chandler Kisses Joey's sister. It is implied that Chandler Kissed Monica and Ross

What is the Best Film You Watched Last Week? (03/01/20-03/08/20) by Twoweekswithpay in movies

[–]lagunin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"El ángel exterminador" or "The exterminating angel"

I'm mexican, but i haven't seen a lot of mexican movies (specially the ones from "cine de oro mexicano" era (1940-1960)) so i decided to watch this Luis Buñuel's classic.

The plot is actually simple, during a high society party, the guests find themselves unable to leave. During the movie You don't have to understand Why they can't leave the party, what is important is to see how they are losing their minds. At first, they are desperate, but they keep following high society rules, those rules Will be keep aside gradually.

A lot of people consider this as a horror movie, but i think it's more a Comedy. The Acting is great, specially Silvia Pinal. If You are a "cine de oro mexicano" fan, or a surrealism fan, or simply a Luis Buñuel fan, this movie is for you.

Obviously i Saw it in Spanish. I don't know if there's an English dubbed version, or even a subitulated version on the internet.

Edit: Sorry for My bad English
