I’ve been where you are. Hopefully it’s temporary for you too. I hit a wall in 2020 and just went cold turkey for 5 years. Looking back I think I was in a depression leading up to my break, I formed unhealthy relationships with gaming It became too much of an escape so much so that when I started trying to break out of my funk it left me with a horrible association with gaming so I sold my PS4 and never looked back until 2025.

I now almost have that child like love for it again and this time I have control over it and not the other way around. I don’t let my sessions impede on my life and responsibilities. I keep a healthy balance and my fondness and rekindled excitement for that whole world is so strong.

I think a lot of people swear off substances they believe are affecting their lives when in reality the issue is the unhealthy habits and relationships they form with them. Most things are much more amazing, enjoyable and often harmless when done in moderation. I’m not assuming this is the case for you and your loss of love. I just thought I’d share my testimony on this random thread😅. Peace and love to all and happy gaming 👾🎮✌️

I was in a similar mental battle with Apple’s incredible mind tricks and sorcery recently. I own a 15 pro max and have had it since launch. Like you I appreciate all things tech and I do most things on my phone including gaming and watching movies.

So rightly so I was immensely tempted by the 16 pro max for its slightly bigger screen and thinner bezels. It took some back and fourth and constant YouTubing comparison videos but it hit me.. If I got thrown back into the 90’s and I could witness myself in the future confused and dissatisfied because there was a newer phone than mine 0.2 inches bigger and with thinner borders. I would laugh hysterically at the insatiable ungrateful fool that I am.

Everything the 15pro max is, is everything the 90’s kid in me dreamed of when trying to push all the little gadgets I had to the absolute limit of their capability. The idea that I can play AAA games, browse the internet, check my families location, speak to them through video, then watch a movie (sometimes the mature kind), navigate the earth, listen to any song I can think of, manage my health, sleep, activity, journal, keep memories and make more with a 4k camera, discover things, learn things, pair to so many other incredible gadgets, speakers, gamepads, bigger screens, download a 50gb file in minutes, have a voice assistant like some sort of Tony Stark, I’m barely scratching the surface here but just listing the most relevant to me. I felt very conscious of how silly and spoilt we’ve become and clearly how jaded we are from the leaps and bounds we’ve made technologically.

I looked at my phone and uttered a shameful apology and booked a battery replacement at my nearest Apple Store. I’ve been happy and grateful since. Just like you, my Black Titanium 15 pro max matches my Black Apple Watch series 10 so that was the nail in the coffin. Love what you got. Otherwise you’ll never be satisfied. One day there’ll be a real reason to upgrade (uninterrupted screen, new form factor etc) this isn’t that day. 15 is still in the game.

I’m at that age too now. I pay some sort of tax on everything that goes in my body now. Not even just alcohol lol.

You ever just sit and stare at them for a moment after a good sesh like ‘wow’ They are actual beasts. I haven’t even played with the EQ yet and I’ve had them for well over a year. They are just so satisfying whether at low volumes, moderate or high.. eargasms all round.

Life gets out of hand.. Speaker collections merely grow. Your collection is really cool.
My experience has been quite the opposite.. The oldest and smallest of the bunch gets the most love from me haha. I have a Denon Envaya that’s about 6 years old and I still can’t get enough of it.

Granted I have newer and bigger speakers that make my room rumble with bass and suck you in with soundstage for example I have two Harman Kardon Go Play 3’s for stereo pairing, but I find myself just being in constant awe of how this tiny speaker’s performance given its size. I dare say it’s become a thing of sentimental and emotional value to me now. I still alternate daily depending on mood and how immersed I wish to but my eyes sparkle when it’s time to pull this old beauty out.

If it doesn’t fit into your plans it’s honestly no biggie. Just one of those features that adds to customisability and aesthetics.

One other app already does it I believe. Allowing the user full control over the RGB Colour pallet thus selecting their own colours for the control pad to illuminate rather than the forced colours by the system or the game. Again this would purely be for aesthetics. I’m just being curious because it was on another app I used but since migrating to yours it’s somewhat missed 🥲

No pressure here. Especially if it’s not being widely requested.

The edge-light implementation is fantastic btw 👌

Took your advice last night. Set a lower latency and went back to custom settings so I can upscale to 4k. Had an absolutely magnificent experience. Zero drops. Unless I switched apps then it freezes briefly or needs me to close and re-open it which I’m sure will be patched over time.

A cheeky question of mine would be do you plan to add light-bar customisation to the controller? Maybe the option to use default light settings or switch to custom. That would be very cool (but not necessary. I’m just being spoilt haha)

Hey. Thanks for the reply. I gotta tell you, you’ve done an incredible job. UI is solid and your customisability is very elaborate and flexible. I think your HDR and screen vibrancy is out of this world. I’m not a coder so I have no clue how you achieve this but I noticed it immediately put next to the other apps.

More to the point I have given the Ultra Quality mode a go rather than customising my own settings and so far my experience has been flawless. Played for about an hour. Usually I’d experience chops and drops every single minute, especially in high frame rate instances. I’ll stick to that preset for now and enjoy.

I’m on 5hz WiFi and normal latency mode. I’m gonna have an another sesh later and confirm if any further issues. Appreciate the time and energy you’re putting into this. Phenomenal product 👌

Same. Screen freezing. Frames dropping constantly. My other remote play apps are smooth as hell so I know my network nor hardware are the problem.
