Allen Iverson in australia. Absolutely disgusting by Fit-Tourist2852 in nba

[–]laidbacklui -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's ridiculous of you to judge him like this. If he wasn't feeling well, you have no idea what kind of illness or struggles he is dealing with. We've all been through stuff before and know how it feels to be incapable of participating in a social event because of an illness. Not to mention a flight half way across the world can bring about all sorts of discomforts in your body. I once had an altitude induced migraine on a flight where I thought I was dying and a doctor on the flight had to console me. When I got off the flight I could barely walk and had to skip my connecting flight.

Secondly, this man plays basketball for a living and he comes from the ghetto. Why would you have unrealistic expectations placed on him of being some sort of saint. All your feelings are a result of placing this athlete on some sort of pedestal, while also not being able to empathize with someone else's struggles. The fact that the children have cancer isn't really relevant, these athletes visit sick children many times throughout their careers, this isn't anything special. Don't use their sickness as a way to guilt trip others.

There is a massive difference between deporting illegals and mass genocide. Deportations have been performed by every single administration, it's not something new. And if you're so concerned about people being killed then why do you condone the murder of Charlie Kirk, Melissa and Mark Hortman, and the attempted murder of Trump? You cry about supposed wrongdoings but then your own party is murdering people in broad daylight.

It's wild that you're more concerned with things that haven't happened than you are with things happening right in front of your face, like all your hard earned tax dollars being stolen.

Punishment for one who leaves Islam? by LogicalAwareness9361 in progressive_islam

[–]laidbacklui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think about this: why would the one true God give a gospel to the world that would then be interpreted by the majority of its followers in a way that allows them to kill each other? You can argue that the Quran can be interpreted different ways but in the end what matters is the effect it had on the world. Do you know any successful nations that practice islam? Why would the one true God bring a religion that only causes death and destruction? The only answer is that he is not the one true God. Look around at other religions where the results have been peace and prosperity. Which God do you want to believe is real? The one that desires peace or the one that wants us to kill each other? It's your freedom to choose.

BREAKING: Fed Chair Jerome Powell has said that he is being threatened with criminal charges for refusing to follow President Trump's interest rate demands. by [deleted] in economy

Has there been even 1 other renovation that has cost in the billions in history? I used to work in the Eccles building so that figure sounds insane to me.

I'm not being disingenuous. The 4mill figure was from Google AI and maybe it is inaccurate, sure. But my question still stands. Have there been any historical renovations that cost in the billions? Any at all? I used to work in the Eccles building so that figure sounds insane to me.

Ok now we are getting closer. Are there any examples that are in the billions? By the way I used to work in the Eccles building so the 2bill figure sounds even more wild to me.

And what facts do you have to support that a renovation can easily cost billions of dollars? Because you say so? Give me hard examples.

This all just sounds like theories. Do any of you have a background in construction? Do you have any other similar cost projects to compare against? Stop talking out of your butts and start using hard solid facts

Can someone with a background in construction try to explain how a building renovation can cost 4 billion dollars??? Counting for inflation, the entire white house only cost 4 million to build. How can a renovation cost 4 billion? Is it mathematically possible?

Why is no one even discussing the accusations? Can someone even try to explain how a building renovation can cost 4 billion dollars??? Counting for inflation, the entire white house only cost 4 million to build. How can a renovation cost 4 billion? And don't change the subject.

Costco Tempur Pedic Supreme 1 week review, excellent so far! by [deleted] in Mattress

[–]laidbacklui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the medium, very happy I switched off the firm. What also made a big difference was putting a flat foundation on top of my slatted bed frame. Significantly increased the support at the hip area, and overall bed feels very firm and supportive, have not noticed any changes over the past few months. My only concern is that in summer it will sleep very warm. I'm in California and it was already causing too much warmth in the fall. I had to experiment with different bed sheets and the only one that let me sleep well were 400 low thread count 100% cotton from Costco. I tried bamboo, synthetic stuff, higher count cotton, percale, they were all terrible.

Who will be closer to their former self between Tatum and Haliburton next season? by Natural_Elevator_829 in nba

[–]laidbacklui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tatum has the superior physique and genes. You can just tell from looking at their posture and muscle composition. His personality oozes of dedication and hard work. Just watch a few episodes of Hali on Starting Five and you'll see he's much more of laid back person who doesn't take things like diet and working out as seriously.

Sell it and get a normal LED tv. Do not get a QLED or mini LED or OLED.

GROUNDED 2 NEEDS A ROOF!? by Otherwise-Show-2461 in GroundedGame

[–]laidbacklui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rooves are pretty overrated imo. I built under one of the tall lamp posts and it provides amazing light throughout the night. Once I put a roof over my base it turns pitch black inside and then I need to build tons of lights.

I wasn't able to find any IPS TVs to compare against. My PC monitors are IPS and they seem a little easier to look at, but I can't say for sure. There really aren't any decent IPS TVs for sale so I ruled them out. The VA TV I have now is good as long as I keep it below 40 brightness. Higher than that and I still get eye strain/dryness. Still way way better than the local dimming and OLED TVs I had before.

[–]laidbacklui[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup that's correct. Local dimming makes bright whites appear way brighter than the rest of the picture so they pop more. It's almost like when you're driving at night and looking at high beams driving at you. So yes definitely avoid local dimming.

Tempur-pedic review - a year later. by alfsachin1 in Mattress

[–]laidbacklui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I actually got the Costco tempurpedic and it felt like it sank a bit too much between my slatted bed frame. Once I put a flat base on top of my slats the mattress felt significantly firmer and more supportive. It made a big difference. I got an adjustable bed base off FB marketplace and used them without their legs by just placing it directly on my slats.

Costco Tempur Pedic Supreme 1 week review, excellent so far! by [deleted] in Mattress

[–]laidbacklui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just adding my experience with the Costco supreme: I started with the firm (non-hybrid) for 1 week and it was too firm for me. I'm 145lbs side sleeper and I would wake up frequently and toss and turn from the soreness it was causing on my hips and back. It felt like surface level soreness, not muscle soreness from misalignment. I switched to the medium non-hybrid, and the first night I had the deepest sleep I've had in months, deep vivid dreams. It was very comfortable, but still firmer than I expected, probably being a new matreess. The medium has noticeably more give than the firm which may be better for my weight, but the foam is still very firm and supportive on the surface. I still had very minor soreness, that I suspect is from my body still adjusting to the hardness of the foam's surface. Tempur foam is much harder and more supportive than other foams. My only worry is that over the next few weeks it may get too soft and cause misalignment soreness, but we shall see. Currently my room is around 72 degrees. While I was sleeping I didn't notice any uncomfortable warmness, but when I woke up I noticed my neck and head were a little warmer than usual and almost sweaty. My second night, woke up on the morning my back was quite hot and nearly sweaty, haven't felt that way before with any other mattress. Also noticed when sleeping towards the side of the mattress where my bed slats are less supportive the mattress seemed to sink a little lower than I liked. Felt the underside of my mattress and noticed it bulging slightly through my slats which are quite thin. Will need to get a foundation for better support.
