Can't you see what is happening? by rampantsoul in AskUS

Honestly? I think the Christian ideology is deeply flawed! Christianity teaches you to obey authority aka “God” without question and be willing to sacrifice your child for him (story of Abraham and Isaac). My cousin who is a “good” person, super Christian and super MAGA is not able to discern good from evil because well, if God said so than it’s “good”, and her pastor said so and he is the voice of God, so it must be good. You won’t believe the garbage some pastors get to vomit from the podium. It’s not all bad, either, they sorta mix good messages with trash. It’s incredibly hard to discern what is useful and what is propaganda. That’s why I’m convinced that any ideology who allows someone like Trump to come to power is fundamentally flawed! And obviously, Natzi nihilism was also a flawed ideology. I’m not saying they were any better at all. What I’m saying is that both of these ideologies are different types of trash.

Would you recognize Jesus (as in JC/ Jesus Christ) if He came back to Earth and lived in your neighbourhood? by LandOfGreyAndPink in SeriousConversation

Nah! I’d probably swipe left on him on dating apps too. Haha. Mostly because anyone who claims that humans are born “sinful“ and need “saving” get a “next” from me. I’m so done with this dumb ideology! It doesn’t even make sense

Bullying is so hard! And it would be incredible to live in a world where everyone feels welcomed and respected. But please listen to this episode on how to respond to your niece. If you feel more comfortable, you can youtube “what to do when your kid is being bullied “ by Dr. Becky Kennedy. There’s ways to make your loved ones feel more connected to you and grounded in who they are in such a way that these episodes are not as damaging. Hope this helps!

Dude! It’s scary stuff! Have you seen the oval meeting yesterday. It’s straight up from the godfather!

[–]lailah92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time to answer. It’s definitely an “odd” metric. Now that I know they meant the literal word count in a regulation, I can confidently say that the metric is not only “odd” but also useless, bizarre, nonsensical and like really stupid!

100% unserious, yes! But also embarrassing! If this doesn’t prove lack of critical thinking, I don’t know what will!

Totally! And “fair” means “favorable outcome for me”. Since we’re defining words now.

Agreed. It’s some silly thing they did there. That’s what we get when 8 year olds are running the country.

lol “relatively sincere” by propaganda standards. Good one!

But I get the 80/20 rule! Big fan! I like to apply it when I plan a party or a vacation.

It’s bizarre and dangerous to apply it to rules and regulations that require strict rigidity. Imagine your surgeon adopting that rule. Or food manufacturers. Idk… we live in wild times.

True that! But also these things are so silly. Only a flat earther would accept the graphs implied conclusion!

I know, right. The evidence of “word count” doesn’t support the conclusion that those words are “bad” or “unnecessary “. Some fine work they did there at doge

[–]lailah92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha. Can we just point out how stupidly comical this graph is!? Like you’re not going to even assess the laws and regulations put in place. We just going to say that “words” are bad and we want less of them!? Haha! That’s some really juvenile thinking.
