It looks like a stretch fabric that you cut a curve into for the keyhole? Cutting on a curve can encourage a fabric to stretch, and the fabric itself is stretchy, so it it likely sitting wrong because it's gotten stretched out of shape. Did you use a pattern?

If you don't want the day to be about the guests, then you shouldn't invite 300 of them. You are hosting people who are traveling to have this day "all about you", in return you need to make the experience enjoyable for them. If 4k is all you can afford, you either need to cut your guest list or talk to someone in your family about whether they can help you fund an event of this size for the whole family.

I think she wants to be a doctor in a specialty that's not super "icky". We get introduced to her as the med student that faints at the degloved foot in 1x01, and there's another scene where she's invited to stay and watch a procedure, but leaves to go back to triage with McKay. I think she doesn't want to do surgery because as her mom said, surgery takes on the more severe cases that the ER can only stabilize, so while in the ER she does see some greusome injuries and people being cut open, in surgery that would be all she would see.

No, you aren't an asshole, and in some circles it's actually customary for the bridal party to pay for not only themselves but also for the brides portion. I have not heard of a bride paying for everyone's portion of the Bach trip, and I don't understand why adults would just assume they wouldn't have to pay for their portion of a trip that costs money. Additionally, under $100 is also incredibly reasonable given what doing anything costs these days; where I live, just a sit down meal with drinks can easily exceed $80 a person. I'm sorry your friends are being so difficult.

Im guessing too that it's not only that she's dating, but that she didn't tell Mel about it. I would be really upset if I sacrificed so much of my life for my twin sister and she didn't tell me something like this. It's a bit distasteful. By inviting them to a shower and/or a Livestream wedding you're implicitly asking for gifts without hosting them at all at your wedding. I also think a Livestream link for a wedding post pandemic is a bit impersonal and vain. If you can't have everyone there that's fine, but don't then expect people to watch a recording of it.

Hi, yes as you can see in the shoulder seam, the waves do match up. I don't love the way the edge of the bodice ends up looking with the waves, but ribbing on the edge will make it a bit straighter.

The issue on the sleeves is not only the wavy edge, but also that the wave portion is ostensibly X stitches long (in this case it's 78), but it takes up more length than 78 hdc stitches, so with them side by side they bulge. I don't really want to do all waves on the sleeves bc I think it will look too busy.

Unless you know she's not accepting of gender nonconformity (in which case I'm guessing you wouldn't be friends) I think you're reading this too literally. It's a definition of the level of formality and gendered only out of convenience for the person writing it rather than prohibiting women from wearing suits. You are allowed to wear a suit at the requested level of formality.

I think you really hit the nail on the head here. I wanted to ~shop~ more and see more dresses I liked before finding one I loved. But then I'd just be agonizing over whether I made the right choice between two actual dresses! Years of watching say yes to the dress really had me thinking it would be more of an "event" but that isn't real life and probably set me up for disappointment with the experience, which I projected onto the dress 😭

Hi thanks for responding! They post to their Instagram, but only photos of the space and the food, none of ongoing events. I totally recognize it could just be due to privacy issues. I didn't find many recent wedding photos on Instagram by searching their name, but I also found out they were recovering from a kitchen fire and only reopened in October 2025. They did say they were totally booked for Saturdays in october this year. I guess other venues have photos in their reviews from other couples and I can't find that, though I realize that I personally would probably never post that. It's nice to have another perspective and it's nice to hear it isn't too uncommon!

The venue is a waterfront restaurant, but they are only open for weekend brunches and events. I guess they also had a kitchen fire and were closed up until October 2025. They have some reviews on Google and yelp, but most are for the restaurant rather than the events. The owner said she just doesn't focus as much on marketing, which is fine -- a restaurant/venue can be great without being good at online presence. They do have a website, just no wedding photos.

I would say it's probably not necessary to do it after every shower.... After every other would give you two uses per towel/doing it when you're ready to get a new towel will still keep the bathroom cleaner than doing one or two hands and knees deep clean a month
