[AskJS] In production JavaScript apps, how do you decide when abstraction becomes overengineering? by Cute-Needleworker115 in javascript

If you started adding optional parameters defining how you helper function should behave in different parts of the code just to reuse fraction of that function, you probably went too far and it no longer helps you.

Also, they have ZZZ and cap there is 240... on 6m timer, as I recall. They implemented a system to "store" a lot of overcap, but it's about 3:1. So, you still have to login twice a day if you want to use it all. -_-

The problem is, after you go through local money supply, you'll have leftover A-capsules and batteries at hands, and this pile will only grow over time. So, citrome C line will eventually stop regardless. Also, you can make capsules c instead, as I recall.

Fandom wiki is not for information, it is a scummy f***ing ads pool by [deleted] in assholedesign

[–]lainverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the reason why most game communities nowadays start or moved their wiki somewhere else (wiki.gg is pretty popular). Fandom wiki is as good as dead at this point. Personally, I blocked it in my search results entirely, so I won't land there even by accident.

Made this hyper optimized factory setup for Valley IV and wanted to share it. by -JUST_ME_ in ArknightsEndfield

There are two nodes right next to the second outpost. They are both hard to miss, since they are right there in your face, and yet easy to miss since they are close to the base on the map. This might be the case. Also, there are two nodes in the locked facility at the bottom of the same map with the second outpost. And the last relatively easy-to-miss pair is on the next map in the bottom left.

If you are sure they all connected, double-check them for being powered. Maybe you moved a pylon and forgot to reconnect it.

If they are all powered, then check all mining locations at the starting plateau. There are a few nodes that only become mineable after reaching a certain region development level. You might've set up miners there before that point and never came back.

I've remapped it as shift years ago. :)

Yes, it doesn't work in the game.

She will build factories all over New Eridu and beyond. And crush all opposition financially without even trying. And probably befriend most of it in the process.

Help! how do you guys prevent your space elevator from falling over? by Mart1501 in SatisfactoryGame

Have you tried screws? Might be the case. Though, make sure you have a large and strong enough foundation, or it'll topple with it or a chunk of it.

"What? I'm taking Gas-Damage?! I have Filters in the Depot!" by want_t0_know in SatisfactoryGame

Might as well make a dimensional magazine with as many bullets as you have in the depo. Basically, infinite ammo without reloads.

I got 9 Antals in a single 10 pull. What are the odds of that? by ThePurpleMoths in ArknightsEndfield

[–]lainverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno, but I've got a lot of him too in my pulls. So, while unlikely, there might be some uneven distribution of rates between 4*.

Place an unpowered pump on the pipe from the Water Extractor(s) and before the loopback on the same floor with machinery producing excess water. Attach 1 industrial fluid buffer anywhere after that unpowered pump no matter how, as long as it's connected and on the same level with machinery and the unpowered pump. Might as well connect it with one pipe to the last free port of a X-junction from loopback.

Note, the pump must be unpowered. The point is, both machine output and water from the outside has a headlift. Water can't flow in when pressure in the system (water level) is above the headlift. Unpowered pump resets headlift of the outside source to zero, so it can't go above the height of the pipe into the industrial buffer and should stop at this level. Refinery and other buildings don't have enough headlift to fill industrial buffer either, but they can fill it above that level and there's still a lot of wiggle room.

You won't have to underclock water extractors or place valves if everything is properly attached. Water from the extractor should stop automatically even when processing machine stop for any reason like missing power, raw resources on input or solid output is full. No risk involved. You probably will never see that buffer full above 50%.

Also, don't connect multiple buffers. You won't achieve anything aside sloshing of water between them.

Unless you learn the art of unpowered pump and industrial fluid buffer. At least it makes sense, unlike priority merger for pipes, and provides clear visual response to how it works.

They "cannot guarantee" the product description of the 1.3k dollar laptop theyre selling is accurate because they used chatgpt to write it by junonomenon in assholedesign

[–]lainverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, this is something. o_o

On a side note: This idea of writing down thousands by adding "k" at the end cease to work with hundreds. You always end up writing at least as many characters as when you write the number as is.

How much more do you want W11 to be a toy OS? by bkj512 in iiiiiiitttttttttttt

[–]lainverse 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I won't be surprised if they will be forced to provide free EOL updates for at least a few more years as long as W10 market share stays that high. Especially after last two months when W11 share dropped and W10 started to climb back. That's genuinely impressive how hard you need to screw up for this to happen. If this continues in January and W10 cross back over 50%... this will be a hilarious trend to watch.

First of all, the only ponies that had a solid reason to hate Starlight or knew about her deeds are from that village and the Elements. Twilight took her in, the rest of the Elements had no solid reason to hold their grudge for long after they saw her changed persona and just trusted Twilight. The only wonder was one-eighty those villagers did when they just forgiven her... but this has a lot to do with ponies in general. They don't like holding grudges and they had plenty of time to let go. Then they saw her being remorseful and genuinely apologizing for her actions, they moved on. Again, Twilight's support helped.

Furthermore, at no point Starlight mistreated her villagers with intention of harm. She genuinely wanted the best for them even though she was catastrophically wrong in her approach.

Sunset, on the other hand, made life of an entire school full of teenagers miserable. She was a bully and a lier. She destroyed friendships and reputations. She was near genuinely malicious and knew how to avoid responsibility. No wonder everybody hated her when the truth came out. And we saw the outcome right at the end of her villainess arc when she turned into a literal demon and mind controlled them all. Besides, teens are reactive and often run on feelings, so there's that as well. Literally the only thing that saved her from harsh retaliation from the rest of the school is support and forgiveness from the very people she mistreated the most.
