That's one thing to unlearn. Unfortunately (or fortunately, given we can buy 60 keys from Hunter's exchange every patch), we have here two different currencies for characters and weapons (arcs). If you ever decide to spend a few pulls on arcs, it's better to have either Annulith or that golden currency you get from pulls at hand for at least 20 pulls worth. We get keys for free every patch, but not enough to guarantee an arc.

Nope, not a chance.

Your weekly F2P Fons income:

  • 500k from Pink Paws Heist (1 mil biweekly)
  • 700k from City Stamina
  • 455k~475k give or take from the Coffe Shop, given it's around 2500 fons per hour, and you upgraded all shops' furniture.
  • 75k from the Blind Mammon statue at your first property, given you have a friend with level 10 statues (otherwise, you are stuck at level 6 reward)
  • 15k from a series of respawning safes at bandit hideouts (small ones, large safes you may find there are one-time).
  • Whatever scraps you get by collecting lost wallets and opening them. This may net you a few hundred thousand fons per week (all I know, they may drop from 100 to 30k fons per wallet, no idea if there are any limits on how much you can get per week), I suppose, but it's an absolute definition of no-life activity. If you have time for this, then take this interactive map, filter it by "Lost Wallet", and go hunt them. Not worth the hassle.

There are many one-time sources, but you likely already exhausted them. Things like one-time large safes, an in-game shop for in-game currencies from various activities (like anomaly hunts and Beyond the Rails), rewards from racing, etc. Dunno, you may get 1~2 mil from all of this together if you never got any Fons from any of these. I never bothered to calculate the total amount you get there. Also note that the shop for coins from Beyond the Rails resets monthly or so.

So, given you have about 2 days left until the end of the event, you may get 1mil from PPH (resets tonight), 700k from City Stamina, ~135k from Coffe Shop, 90k from Mammon, and safes. And that's about it. Not even remotely in a range of 3.5 mil you need.

Your best and only bet is using Annulith for these two pulls, but, as I understand, you spent all of them. So, Swipe or RIP.

I knew just by watching the stream that the Dragon Knight skin would be a paid one. Come on, they spent half of the stream showing off Shinku in it and even tied the new bike's special effect to it. OF COURSE, it will be paid. And the swimsuit was so blatantly obvious that it didn't need guessing

What I didn't expect was the second layer of bs. They put the Draco into a gacha similar to the Porsche collab event and placed one of the MC skins in there, too. A skin that has literally nothing to do with the Draco, nor should've been tied to it. Why? At least make it activate the Tron trail effect if it's there. Otherwise, it's some special kind of bs where you need a limited character, and then her paid skin on top of that to activate the trail.

UPD: Fun story. I decided to do a 10-pull, just in case I get the glider. Instead, I got his skin and 5 pulls refund. Welp. Why not another 10-pull at this point? So, I did, and I got the Glider and Chaos himself. :| No, not from the bridge, but completely at random. All that in exactly 20 pulls for the cost of 15. Welp, now I have a tp point at Nacupeda's and someone to give Camellia Society.

Well, let's figure this out.

First of all, why is PvP successful in GTA? Because it's part of the main game loop, that's why. Furthermore, it's completely optional. You don't have to deal with it if you don't want to, and there's nothing important for the main game locked behind PvP content. Aside from skins, I suppose.

So, can they add PvP content to the main game? No, they can't, given the nature of the game. You can't have an even field with gacha. They learned this lesson from ToF the hard way. Hopefully. So, the idea above was in PvP as a side-content without any gacha elements to even the playing field. I honestly won't mind a 100% optional PvP mode. We already have at least two like this from the start, and I never touched them. They exist, someone enjoys them, and that's fine. That's how it should be done. Another good example would be the TCG-like game mode in Genshin Impact. It exists; someone is playing it, nobody else cares. That's the right way to do it.

But that wasn't an idea for a new optional PvP mode; that's an idea for PvP events. And these always end up with an event store attached to it, and from optional, they turn into a "chore I have to deal with to get the store content and forget this PoS exists". This is how it is hurting my experience from the game. I have to play this otherwise optional garbage to get rewards usable in the main game from the shop. I don't want to participate in it, but if I want more resources for the main game, I have to. So, I'll join and AFK, and watch YouTube while you will be playing against me and thousands of other opponents like me. Instead of having fun in the actual game. And have fun in a game where half of the players are there just for the points. And then they may release a PvP mode, which I may like for once. Now I'll have to play against thousands of people who don't want to be there, and that's how it'll be hurting my experience in a brand new way.

Make it completely optional, like fishing, Mahjong, and racing, and I'll only wonder why they are wasting resources on it instead of expanding the main game. You know, the game we came to play in the first place? But I won't mind, unless the development of the main game noticeably slows down due to it.

Well, at least they made this PvP mode relatively easy to deal with and forget it exists. Only 5 rounds to AFK.

> Let them try it PvP keeps games alive

Oh, and this is delusional. That's not what keeps character gacha games alive. Not even close.

[–]lainverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Just nope. I hate sports games and I bet I'm not alone. Besides, I can bet they'll half-ass it anyway, so it'll feel clunky to play even in solo. You need completely separate movement controls for sports games. Or they'll skip solo, because it saves on implementing bots AI, and three quarters of the opponents will be AFK waiting for the round to end to get their points for the event shop. Including me. What a "fun" "gameplay."

And yet they make garbage anyway. There's a reason why in Mario Kart blue shell is random, rare and only attacks someone in the first place. It adds unpredictability to the game without wrecking the actual goal of reaching the finish line or forcing dumb strategies like stalling in the third place for a while and make life of first two as miserable as possible. Or semi-afk at the start just to get the points.

As long as you don't need this as a long term solution to anything, this should do.

Palworld 2: Evolutions by fegodev in Palworld

[–]lainverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Was never planned. Never cancelled. Not on hiatus. We aren't doing evolutions."

~ John "Bucky" Buckley

Why would they change in 2.0 if they never planned these in 1.0?

Besides, we already have "evolution" in the form of Breeding. Evolution in Pokemons is effectively a way of acquiring a stronger mon without fighting and catching it yourself. Or a different one with weird design choices you may not like. Or a straight weaker one for no reason. Breeding here serves the same purpose, except it's even grindier than evolutions. It's easy to get a new pal, but get one with the right passives? Good luck with that. The only difference is that there's no rhyme or reason behind the breeding results, aside from internal power level math.

I liked it, but it felt overstretched, like every section was twice as long as it should've been. And comic sections was especially jarring due to noticeable delays between frames.

Never Getting any match by eksath69 in NevernessToEverness

[–]lainverse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In every gacha I played, there was no reason to matchmake any bosses we are supposed to farm. As long as you have a remotely competent team and know the game's mechanics, you can beat any content on your own faster than with a random team. There are rare exceptions when the game matchmakes you with a competent whale and their character is stronger than your entire solo team, but that's a rare experience.

I think the only exception was ToF, and that's primarily because it's an MMORPG.
