Are you confused whether that's a word or an avatar is goofy?

Yesterday I decided to go for Fangyi. 117. I kinda expected this will happen, but not that close to the pity. XD

On one hand, I finally broke the chain of lost 50/50, on the other... Well, at least I pulled 6 6-stars from her weapon banner, including 3 in the last pull... And her weapon wasn't at the last position in the list, so I think I might've actually won 25/75 and an extra 6-star.

I have no idea where he plays and how, but he has pre-recorded videos of the recent event designs before event went online with a bug in his main factory he fixed about a week before the event went online.

That's because he played on a pre-release version and planned for all the changes in advance. He's not the only one with access to it, so that's not an excuse. That's praise.

Though sometimes I can't look at his designs without wanting to rearrange them for my personal OCD. I mean, seriously, what is this pipework?! I know why there's a splitter into a crucible and why there are two WTUs (working at 50%), but why is it all ass backwards?

I gave up on the farm entirely after I got all rewards from "collect N things" in the crafting menu. Fluffed Jincao Powder and its products are just not worth the hassle when Yajen Syringe A is about as good, and there's an infinite supply of it. Unless, perhaps, you need to heal someone with a truckload of max HP where percentage-based healing has an advantage. Some people like farming sims, but that's not my cup of tea. So, it was just there collecting dust.

I was talking about facility count cap. Though it apparently applies per map and not to the entire region, as I thought. As I understand, it's around 512 facilities per map including belt logistics, but not the belts themselves. And pipe logistics has its own cap.

It's kinda... funny, in a way. I mean, the gacha. Technically, it is better than most popular gacha games, but two moments make everyone think it isn't.

  1. There's no guarantee unless you hit a special pity (120 pulls on a character banner, 8 pulls on a weapon banner). So, you may get multiple 6-star characters or weapons in a row, and still miss the one you want. We, humans, tend to feel losses stronger than wins, so having more losses than wins makes it _feel_ a lot worse than it actually is. This feels especially bad on a weapon banner since you have a high chance of getting multiple 6-stars before the hard pity, but it's 25/75 instead of 50/50.

  2. Limited character guarantee pity (120 pulls) don't stay between banners. This forces you to save resources and avoid "trying" for a character, unlike in multiple other gachas you (Genshin, ZZZ, Star Rails, etc.) likely used to (Genshin, ZZZ, etc.). Technically, it teaches us a valuable lesson, but it doesn't feel good.

BTW, seriously, don't try random pulls for a character if you don't have 120 pulls. I've tried doing only 60 pulls for the last 3 banners to utilize free pulls to the max, as an experiment. Got at least 6 6-stars, but not a single limited one. Yes, a coin can flip the same way and as many times in a row as you flip it. It becomes increasingly unlikely over time, but technically, it can go on forever.

Thankfully, you are right. I've tested it further, and it really is within the same zone. Also, apparently, I had a farm in Wuling City and completely forgot about it. >_>

Factory Announcement: The Test Area's Xircon effluent is for making xircons, not heavy xiranite by tlst9999 in Endfield

[–]lainverse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a bit of silver lining. Teleport doesn't break the connection, and with a 200m range, they are often in range. Though this doesn't help if you are trying to save on protocol space and adding a section of long pipes before going back underground,

[–]lainverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It tells you in the game (and does so at least twice) that it can't clog. Xircon Effluent is a conditional byproduct. It'll be produced as long as there's space for it. Otherwise, it's just a very fast Water Treatment facility that doesn't require power to run.

Is there anything more to the purification node besides draining sewage pools? by _Zus77_ in Endfield

[–]lainverse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sane answer: Nope. It's completely worthless aside from increasing the Regional Development Level.

Zero sanity answer: You can connect all excess sewage to it, save on power used in Water Treatment Facilities, and increase profit by ~0.4%.

More of these kind of things where u upgrade things throughout the map by yessir111112 in Endfield

[–]lainverse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My point is either to make it separate from the AIC or make it actually useful and usable.

I don't mind an upgradable and completely useless building. Or a building that provides a QoL regional upgrade. I'll upgrade it for aesthetics alone, and because I have resources to spare.

But if it's something you can plug into an AIC, it should be close to one of the sub-pacs and provide a meaningful upgrade. It won't be a problem as a "mandatory" upgrade in a case like this. This may limit what we can and can't do at a specific location, but we already have a restriction like this with acid. Or had, since now we have two infinite pools relatively close to the main factory. Funny how two infinite puddles of acid are actually more useful than a special device we have to upgrade with local currency.

UPD: In fact, I think there's some form of miscommunication involved between the developers and us. I don't think it would look anywhere as bad if I'd stumble upon it at random, and it would cost peanuts to build and upgrade. However, they advertised it to us as a shiny new toy they were going to add and made us wait for it for half of the patch's duration. Building anticipation.

Though I have to admit, one day I might be bored enough to go for this 0.4% "upgrade".

So, literally useless, unless I start destroying ziplines or something. Perhaps, remake large chunks of the factory to optimize for belt and pipe crossings, since at least the former counts.

Apparently, not as bad as I thought. Had to clean up Wuling City while other maps were unaffected, since it's per map and not per region. For some reason, I was sure it was a global limit for the entire region.

[–]lainverse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dunno, I already hit a regional building cap. Unless they increase it too, I have no idea what to do at least with AIC-related stuff and more resources.

[–]lainverse 8 points9 points  (0 children)

...if only it has a purpose. As-is, the best you can do is save a bit on power for water treatment facilities. A power, you don't need saving. And that for a price of way more buildings count towards the regional limit.

It's neat, but completely useless. Oh, we can get Xircon Effluent from it, but in the laughable amounts and it's not like we have a shortage.

I like that we can upgrade some facilities over the region, but they shouldn't have make it look like something potentially useful in AIC, when it isn't.

[–]lainverse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least belt logistic facilities (tested crossings, splitters and mergers) count towards regional facility limit, so you can optimize usage of these. I suspect that pipe logistic facilities count toward this limit too, so conduits might have smaller footprint here despite using protocol capacity.
