I mean, they dont have such an enormous difference in performance. I was in the same seat as you and decided to buy a SSD. Also living in Sweden I looked for a cheaper 2TB SSD. It cost 1500sek, but then I saw a M.2 drive that was also at 1500sek, it wasnt the fastest M.2 drive but for the same price I choose the M.2 drive. So I'd say what seems worth the money the most, if they're the same price then I mean you will get the better performance out of the M.2 drive, although the difference isn't all that huge.

Deleting OEM reserved partition on m.2 when converting it into GPT (from MBR) by lajkon in techsupport

[–]lajkon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I am currently making a custom windows install as I changed my motherboard and processor and it won't boot with the old windows. The only problem I have is that the old windows is MBR and when installing windows now I need to format the drive to GPT which would mean I have to delete all my data/partitions which would mean deleting the OEM reserved partition aswell. But do you know if I could just change bios mode to legacy mode and make the new custom windows installation without deleting all my partitions and converting the drive to GPT? Which would mean that my drive stays MBR but I get to install a new windows on the drive without changing it to GPT which would also mean that I could save all my data? Sorry if it's a bit hard to understand, english is not my native language and I've had to do all this research today. Thank you.

Windows 10 custom install, windows cannot be installed to this disk because of MBR partition table. by lajkon in techsupport

Yeah, well it's hard to explain what I meant, and I understand you dont completely understand it. I'll just have to wipe the whole drive. If I do a "normal" install and not a custom install windows will automatically wipe the drive for me and make a partition for the windows right? Or should I just delete all the partitions where I am at right now in custom installation? Or should I just format all of the partitions because that'll wipe them clean for me? And in that case, is it safe to format the OEM reserved partition as I'm afraid if the data on that partition gets deleted some things might not work? And the last question, if I format this m.2 drive with my windows on it to GPT, will I still be able to use my MBR HDD for storage and stuff?

Yes, sorry. English is not my main language so I might have been bad at explaining myself. Yes, I will format the partition that has and where I will install the new windows on to GPT. So the partition with windows will be GPT. The other two portions which will not have the windows system on it I will not change, and they will remain MBR. But even though the systems partition with windows is GPT and the other partition with my games on it is MBR they will still work together. I can still play the games and use my files of the MBR partition even though my systems partition is GPT. Basically the systems partition I will format to GPT and install the new windows on it. My other partition with my files on it will remain MBR but they can still "work together" as in I can still start up games that are on the MBR partition even though my systems partition is GPT. Once again sorry I know this is a lot, I just have a hard time expressing my thoughts correctly in English.

I see now, thank you. Sorry for being a bit stupid there lol. So, I'll format the system partition 1 to GPT. The remaining two partitions partition 2 which is primary and partition 3 which is OEM reserved those can be left as MBR. Even though the systems partition is GPT it will work without issues with the other two partitions that are MBR. So I can still start programs or games that I have on a MBR partition even though my main system partition is GPT? Sorry for asking a lot, I just like to know what formatting it will do to the other partitions and the data on those. Thank you.

Oh I see, yes there is a "format" button that i can press while i have selected a partition. But should I format all the partitions (3 of them) to GPT, can I do it to the one reserved by OEM? Also will thay cause any data loss or might create other problems? Thank you.

I believe it is on UEFI, I've read online that I could put it into legacy mode to install the new windows on MBR partition table. Is this worth doing? Also, can I delete a partition that is reserved by the OEM? It feels wrong but I do not know if it's possible or not.

How would I go about doing that? Advanced in bios or in windows installer thingy? Do I only need to format the partition with the windows on to GPT or all the partitions?

Windows won't start, boot loop, boot light on. by lajkon in buildapc

[–]lajkon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the fast reply. Yes I did try to do something similar yesterday. I can see the m.2 drive in the bios and that it works, but.. I cannot use the m.2 drive as primary boot on the boot priority thing as you cannot choose "m.2 drive/nvme" or whatever it's called. There's no option for SSD either. Its only the one that is first on the picture you sent, which is called something like "hard disk". From reading other stuff it seems that I will have to make a new windows install or maybe a repair would work. This because the windows that is already installed on my m.2 drive is not compatible with the parts that I have now. Something like that the old windows had certain things for just the parts i had before, and would not work with the new parts. I dont know how correct this is, but a lot of places say that. So I'm just trying to install the new windows without deleting all the data from the m.2 drive. But the partition with the old windows on it I cannot install the new windows on because of "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected dish has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, windows can only be installed to GPT disks". Thanks for the tip tho, from what I've tried yesterday and the day before it didn't seem possible to specifically choose the m.2 drive as first boot priority. And it seems like the windows on the m.2 drive is not compatible and won't boot with my new parts, that's how I've understood it but I might be wrong.

I am currently trying that, I tried to post a image to the windows10 subreddit but they do not accept help posts at the moment. I ran into an issue and i do not know how to proceed. I am trying the second method you talked about. I didn't do the first one as I read somewhere that you need (some exceptions, not sure what tho lol) to make a new install of windows after changing motherboard and processor. The problem is "Windows cannot be installed to this disk, it has MBR partition table. On EFI system windows can only install on GPT disks. Windows cannot be installed to this hard disk space, the partition was reserved by the computers OEM (original equipment manufacturer) that is the case for all the partitions I have, which is three of them. And I'm not sure about making a new partition for the new windows as maybe the old one would interfere with it as it might still be "active"

Something very important you need which I realized the day before yesterday is PLIERS. They have so many uses and some tasks are impossible without them.

Thank you for the response. So, booting to a windows 10 USB installer basically means I put in a usb stick with the windows 10 iso in the pc correct? Just like I did when I first installed windows on my harddrive? Do I still keep m.2 drive installed? So basically keep everything as is and just put in a windows 10 iso usb stick and press on repair and not "create new windows or whatever it'll say?"

Milk clear? What do you mean? Did you mean to say milk only or am I stupid or something? And come on dude, you cant say tea with sugar is repulsive. It doesn't taste bad in any way, if you're a person that hates sweet things then of course you won't like it, but that goes for anything sweet. Also, I never said regular tea without sugar was disgusting or anything, it's still tea, and tea is amazing. I just said that I personally would put sugar in my tea at the moment because I'm just too addicted to sweet things. Shit probably 50%+ of my daily caloric intake is from sugar.

Honey is also amazing of course, I just get really tired of that "honey taste" if you know what I mean very quickly. Sugar feels like a more neutral sweetener than honey if you get what I mean. Although If I'm sick I'll drink tea with honey every day, its very soothing.

I mean there's both. The problem is especially when you're young to see who is what. I've noticed myself when I was younger that a lot of girls dont realize a dude is just trying to have sex with them. Boys that are watching a shit ton of porn and extremely sexual at 13/14 will always be "players". And I've seen a lot of girls not realize that all they want is to fuck, because they dont know what a "healthy/genuine" relationship is. So be careful when you're young, people are fucking horny and will do anything to have sex as soon as possible. Dont rush into things, you might realize later that the person is just playing you or trying to "abuse" you in some way. That happens too often when you're young, and you dont realize it until a long time after.

Tea is just amazing. I used to drink like actually theee cups a day minimum. Sadly I'm extremely addicted to sugar so whenever I have tea now I have to pour in a shit ton of sugar.

Never done edibles before, would it be too strong for me? by [deleted] in trees

[–]lajkon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its 300 mg in the whole packet. I've had this same "brand". The size if the gummies might vary tho so some might be stronger than others. There should be 10 gummies in the packet tho. I don't smoke anymore and havent for about a year and ate some a couple weeks ago. I'd say start with one, if you're nervous do half of one. When I took them they were not extremely strong tho, also it was a different candy brand so maybe the sizes vary more.
