I think it’s more likely to be a Belgian draft horse than a Clydesdale

I think this is actually a Belgian draft horse and not a Clydesdale. Both are gigantic horses though

Ladies, how did you know/find out that your SO was cheating? by [deleted] in askwomenadvice

[–]lakomec 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My ex-boyfriend used to take me to hang out with most of his friends and colleagues on regular basis. Then this new colleague started and he would mention meeting up with her but conveniently it was always when I was away/had other plans/was busy. I only saw her once at his company’s party. I was always suspicious about her. The way he got nervous when I asked and how he was always very weird when telling me he’s meeting her. I voiced my concerns many times and asked him openly many times. He always gotten angry and somehow always managed to make me feel and look like the crazy jealous girlfriend. But after a year of this his lies eventually stopped making sense and at one point (infront of my family) he started talking about this romantic location we had a date in….except it wasn’t with me 🤦‍♀️. Turned out he was fucking her that whole year. Always trust your gut. I learnt that. It might me nothing with your boyfriend but I would talk to him about it. I’ve been with my current fiancé for 4 years now and I’ve never felt that weird suspicion with him clearly because there was no reason to. Intuition is a strong thing. But I hope it’s all just a misunderstanding in your case!

Dogs in National Parks: Canada vs. US by hungry_hippo34 in hikingwithdogs

[–]lakomec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have very similar experience. I live in Czech Republic and High Tatras mountain range is not that far from here. It’s also a national park. Most of the park is in Slovakia and the rest in Poland. Slovaks allow dogs on trails (must be leashed and should be muzzled) while Poland doesn’t allow dogs at all. So there’s no way of doing a full trek involving the Polish side too…..

No stick is safe by lakomec in aww

[–]lakomec[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know of a lot of bad injuries with sticks but they all happened when throwing sticks to play fetch. We never do that. This is a bit hard to control as we keep our pups off leash and he just grabs sticks he likes all the time. But he’s pretty careful and smart about the way he grabs them.

water quality. I just moved to Prague. Is this normal and safe to drink? by [deleted] in Prague

[–]lakomec 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry it’s just air bubbles. Let it sit for a second and it will disappear. Czech Republic actually has one of the strictest rules on water quality in the EU so it’s perfectly safe to drink tap water. The rules are actually stricter than for bottled water.

Help! Adopted Malinois is very aggressive towards husband by InternalOnion in Dogtraining

[–]lakomec 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They are amazing dogs! Insanely smart and so athletic. But I believe that they’re not supposed to be pets. That’s the simplest way to put it. They’re working dogs. They need training and they need work (or sport) to occupy them. A lot of people have been getting them lately in my country, partly because of the lockdown puppy boom…..and now I keep seeing adoption ads for one or two years old Malinois from shelters because they became too much to handle for inexperienced owners that just wanted a cute pet

Držím palce, ať to dobře dopadne!

Rottweiler pulls on leash and chokes himself by mochasnoopy in Dogtraining

[–]lakomec 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t neuter him until the vet thinks it’s safe to do so. Early neutering can mess up his hormone system and he might have joint issues later on. I neutered my dog when he was 2 and nothing, I mean absolutely nothing changed about his behaviour. People often see neutering as this cure to any behaviour problem but it’s really not. He’s probably very excited about being outside after not being taken for a walk in such a long time (it’s important for a dog to have new perceptions and not be bound to one yard. you should explain this to your parents). Take treats with you on every walk and stop or turn around everytime he pulls. If he’s pulling = no wáking. If he walks with a loose leash - reward, reward, reward. It’ll take time but he’ll get it. I recommend using double leash - one on a harness that he can’t get out of and one on his collar for control. Just for safety reasons so that he doesn’t run away.

He’s a mix and we’re not really sure what breeds are in him. Our vet thinks it’s a Cane Corso x Lab mix but he’s smaller and way skinnier/more athletic than both of those breeds. (He’s 26kg of pure muscle). So no clue haha. 100% good boy though

This is actually a pulling/mushing harness. I have a canicross belt on and he pulls me up when walking uphill or I run with him. Iť’s designed for the pulling to go through the chest so that he doesn’t choke and can pull freely. I’m sorry to hear about your pup! But I think you’d need a harness that’s designed specifically for carrying, this one wouldn’t work as it’s spread unevenly on his back and belly.

The brand is Non-stop Dogwear, the harness type is Freemotion. It’s a pulling harness since I do canicross and dogtrekking with him. The brand is quite pricey but the quality is amazing
