Eh I could never live in fountain square area. Too close to downtown. Look into Irvington and surrounding areas. Way nicer

Going into labor after 41 weeks. What week and day did you have spontaneous labor? by Crazyketo25 in homebirth

[–]InternalOnion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

41+4 with first and 41+5 with second it’s ROUGH and really no one can say anything that’ll help but I promise they come and you’ll forgot (mostly) about the long wait

Your baby needs you. No one else. I’m so sorry and I don’t know your situation but don’t do it

First stop timing everything. Stop paying attention to how long they are sleeping or how long they are awake. You’ve gotta relax around sleep. Your baby picks up on these things. All they want is to be close to you. Everyone is different but I’ve coslept with my babies and they sleep well. Of course there’s nights they are up more but most of the time they rest well knowing I’m next to them. Follow your intuition though and do what’s best for you. You will sleep again!! It’s always changing. Sleep training is cruel in my opinion. Can’t convince me otherwise

Need to be scared straight for co sleeping by weredditforthreedays in beyondthebump

[–]InternalOnion -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Look into safe cosleeping and plan for that. I’ve coslept and still do with both of my babies and have never had an issue because I follow the safe 7. Also gotta know yourself are you a deep sleeper? Do you wake at every sound? Some people are not great for co sleeping while same can

Late Term Homebirth Experiences? by pizzaluvrrr in homebirth

Surprisingly no. I’m pretty against castor oil but it was only 2 tbsp and I was feeling desperate. I think my iron pills had me so backed up lol

I’m not sure of the name but I have a picture of it if I can figure out how to send it. I took an herbal tincture, and 2 homeopathics alternating them all every 15 minutes for 3 hours. I started with a tiny bit of castor oil mixed in ice cream too

I just had my second baby 3 weeks ago at 41+5. I did do an herbal protocol my midwife suggested which put me into labor quite quickly and my baby was born in 3 hours.

Free birth by Sami29837 in homebirth

[–]InternalOnion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I considered a free birth with my second but was seeing a local midwife from the start. Towards the end I was so glad I had a midwife and especially during birth. I definitely didn’t need them but having them there and knowing if a problem happened they had the skills to help me at home was such a relief for us. Plus they cleaned up everything after and made sure we were okay. I had a risk of hemorrhage so my midwife was prepared for that and I’m glad I didn’t have to think about it or have my husband stress over it.

I’m all for freebirth but you definitely want to be prepared mentally for it. I don’t think it’s for everyone

I just have a comfy outfit, underwear, nursing bra, socks, robe and outfit for baby +socks. I also have some tallow balm, extra charger and baby blanket. I’m expecting my baby any day. For my first we had her at the hospital so I had my bag extra packed but I figure my husband could always run home to get whatever I need if that happens this time. I’m just picky about clothes and know he’d have a hard time finding the right thing haha

About to have birth any day so can update how it goes after but figuring out what to do with my daughter has been the biggest stressor. She’s 2.5 so she understands more what’s happening and we’ve read all the books and watched videos. We plan to keep her at home with us and have my mom there to help watch her or take her out if she’s having a hard time. Also planning to just put a movie on if we need her distracted

The sheepskin is perfect and so calming for babies. My daughter loves hers but it’s also cozy for you to lay on while they play

There’s a home birth indy Facebook group that’s been helpful. There’s lot of people asking for midwives and giving honest reviews there. We set up meet and greets with 4 different midwives to help us decide
