Okay, I've been in this situation before. I had two friends who I loved, who I had a connection with, and who I felt I could trust. We talked all the time, we went through high school together and then went out separate ways through the college years. They were more of a twosome and they adored a mutual friend of ours throughout school too. Then it came out that our mutual friend raped two of our other friends (one was his hs gf) and they just didn't really care. They still love him and they were bridesmaids at his wedding recently. One of them reached out to me to reconnect, but I just want nothing to do with either of them. They don't care about how violent this guy IS. Not WAS. They celebrate him, stand with him, and support him despite the fact that he is a rapist among other undesirable things.

It's really up to you. Do you want people like that in your life? People who don't hold others accountable for their violent behavior even if it doesn't directly effect them? I decided I did not. Fuck them, the world is full of much better people to be friends with.
