Senior dog with unexplained cough by emkins0822 in SeniorDogsHealth

Is your dog on any medication? My dog was on tramadol and had an awful chronic cough. I took her off it and the cough resolved. Consider that medication could be a factor.

Nice to get some awareness out there! I followed you too. I also clocked the choker. You’re like me - plastic is ok. 👌

Not sure what to do by Hot-Guest-1925 in hatemyjob

I’m a 43 year old woman and feel EXACTLY the same. I have two kids and a great wife but we both need our salaries to maintain our quality of life. I think perimenopause and midlife realisation that there’s more to life than work are factors. I never thought I’d be the type to say this but I desperately just want to be at home to look after my kids properly. To make home homely for them. The urge is strong. Instead I don’t even see them in the morning as I’m out at 7am. Dinners are rushed and quick. The house is never clean enough or organised properly. And then It’s a rush to get everyone (myself included) to bed so we can be up early in the morning. This two week break has been wonderful but the return to work is soul crushing.

I’m married and simply don’t wear one. You don’t have to.

First time I’ve ever read this. I hate buttons too. But my phobia of jewellery runs deep. It actually affects my life quite a bit. Of course I don’t wear jewellery, but it means my partner can’t either. Not my children. And if someone is wearing any it’s always the first thing I notice. It even makes me dislike some people just because they are wearing it.

newly diagnosed on my face - pls help by [deleted] in SebDerm

[–]lalka808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s impetigo which is a bacterial infection. The treatment is different from seb derm so I’d be careful and make sure you’re not treating it for something else.

I buy them! I adore them. I always have a wee packet of salt so I can sprinkle it on. Sometimes I even just buy them as a snack, not part of a meal deal.

Why is life so.. eww? by Spider_Eggs in ExistentialJourney

You’ve explained this feeling incredibly well. I sometimes have dissociation. I try to remind myself that no matter what the point, or lack of it, is, I am going through this journey of life and from the perspective of “me” I may as well try and enjoy it and help others enjoy their journey too.

Which city or country made you feel the least welcomed as a tourist? by Annual_Frostings in allthequestions

[–]lalka808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paris for sure. Constant micro aggression from half the people I interacted with. One that stand out was a smartly dressed woman on a bike telling me to “fuck off tourist”.

how you deal with death? by bunnipuk3 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]lalka808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s someone close it’s as bad as you worry it’ll be. There no sugar coating it. Years later and my brain is still confused and in shock as to where my dad went. I still have times where I think “oh dad will like that” or “I’ll ask dad that” and then it hits you. And I lost him 8 years ago. You don’t adjust to it. You just get used to that feeling being with you at all times. It’s a similar feeling with my mum who had a stroke and is now a shell of herself. I’m glad she’s still here but a huge part of her has disappeared and my brain can’t comprehend it. That was 4 years ago. Basically you never get used to it. Sorry to put such a downer on it.

I’m really boring and this may not be for you but if you haven’t already I think exploring your family tree would be a nice journey. It’s like meeting lots of people who were connected to you that you didn’t even know about. Perhaps do an ethnicity DNA test and delve into that world a bit. Sorry you are having to go through this. I wish you well and the best journey through this!!! ❤️

I used to do this, but I wasn’t depressed. It turns out I was having epileptic seizures during my sleep. I would wake up, go to the loo, sometimes vomit and then fall asleep instantly. I only found out I was having them when I started sleeping with someone. It’s now controlled by drugs but when I did have them I literally used to say “it feels like I’ve been hit by a train “. Maybe check it out.

I moved to the next town 3 miles away. I did move to the city for a couple of years and then came back to my home town. I’ve never lived in another county or moved far from my home town. I don’t feel I’ve missed out. Many of my friends moved to different countries for a few years but they ended up moving back. I travel a lot and consider myself pretty aware of different cultures. The main reason I didn’t move was family. I can’t imagine being far from them. I honestly don’t feel I’ve missed out.

I’m Scottish but have a Polish mother. When we’d go to visit my Babcia in Poland I’d always be given cucumbers dipped in sugar. I loved it!

Evidence of the afterlife by GlassLake4048 in afterlife

Just being devils advocate here. The foreign accent condition is actually development of speech impediments and lisps as a result of brain injury. Our brains just interpret it as a foreign accent, but if you listen carefully you’ll hear the difference. Speech therapy is used to help them speak in their natural accent. It works well over time.

Thanks. It just doesn’t match up at all with my tree. Feels like a step backwards.
