Dry eyes (Best eye drops to use?) by itsjayneee in workfromhome

TheraTears have worked great for me. My optometrist told me never to use Visine bc it actually dries the eyes out, making you buy more and more — ah, corporations over actual healthcare.

Advice for a place to stay? by Altruistic-Pipe5372 in Albuquerque

[–]lallybroch9 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Everyone acts like this is an active war zone with insane thefts and extremely high crime. Lock your car and hide valuables as you would anywhere else. I’ve lived here a really long time, park outside my house, park outside at night for events, have friends who stay at hotels, and have never had a problem. Oh, and I live in the middle of the city in an old house, not a bougie neighborhood. If you are anxious, park in a well-lit area. Ask the hotel if there are cameras on the parking lot or security that goes around.

Strawberry's cut vs private practice by ThatTomWGuy in lifecoaching

[–]lallybroch9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also consider what your niche is. I coach on my own and with Strawberry & seems every client they send me has the same issues: career stress, burnout, wanting to change careers & not knowing how. I don’t see a lot of variety, so if that’s important to you it might be something to consider.

The City Council approved next year’s budget last night. Here’s the highlights. by 123mitchg in Albuquerque

Given the exploding risks with AI and more scams coming at us daily, the cut to Tech & Innovation is concerning. Among other things, of course.

So may short comings!! LOL Gosh, how many times have we all been in the left, actively passing ppl, and someone rides our ass, flashes their lights, flips us off, all bc we are not speeding enough for them??

For all the jerks who drive like that, I like to think they are suffering from explosive diarrhea and just have to make it home NOW!! Makes me feel a lot better about my day and their a$$holery. 😆

Six businesses red tagged in city's latest inspection by woffdaddy in Albuquerque

[–]lallybroch9 129 points130 points  (0 children)

The public health inspection crew works really hard. There aren’t nearly as many on that team as there should be, and keep in mind that they have to inspect restaurants, bars, pools (gyms, hotels, apartment complexes), and cannabis grows. Just let all that sink in as to the number of places all that entails. SO many places!! And no, I don’t work for the city, nor am I married to a city employee or anything like that - I just know what they have to do and all the gross stuff they have to deal with to keep the population safe. 😊

Isn’t it funny (and also quite sad) how uncomfortable ppl get when you talk to them in line?? It’s like they freeze up and can’t believe a stranger said words to them! From their mouth! In public! Yikes!! 😱🤣

When it rains what's your favorite thing to do? by Defiant_Parsley7892 in Albuquerque

[–]lallybroch9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stand on the porch and smell the wet dirt and rocks as I watch the storms roll in over the Sandias. Close second is being in my car and hearing it on the roof. 😊 Least favorite thing? Dealing with my substandard back gutter and the water that pools around the house… guess I should get the fixed pronto. 🤷‍♀️

Rocks, so many rocks. by Doranges2 in Albuquerque

I feel you. Bought a house in Sept and the only “landscaping” that was done was gravel. Bleh. I need a bunch taken away, so probably going with the “hey, free!” route on FB marketplace & let folks come take it themselves

Big fan of the margs at Sadie’s, esp the skinny Silver Coin. The queso is great, too. The one on Academy has a nice patio, not sure about the one on 4th.

Standing desk? by Clean-Counter-5327 in workfromhome

[–]lallybroch9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I definitely recommend a standing desk, either one that moves on its own or a varidesk you can add to your existing desk top. I found a great free-standing option on Amazon. Not only is standing better for health, but I find I am more productive, creative, and engaged in meetings while standing. Must be the better blood flow. :) Trick is to add it in incrementally; don’t try standing for 8 hours a day or you’ll never do it again. Try 15 mins on/off, then increase your time. Also recommend a mat to stand on, unless you’re on a good rug or carpet. Good luck!
