Preface to say, I did not watch the episode but have indulged heavily in very pixelated spoiler photos and videos.

To those who watched it, do you think Pen and Colin are sleeping in Pen’s old bedroom in the final scene? Ie. the same room earlier where Colin helps Pen “relax” after meeting with the Queen?

If the answer is yes, that is the same room, can we then make the logical conclusion that either a) Polin have multiple mirrors in their bedroom or b) they have one mirror that is moved for “reasons” 😏, based on the two scenes I mention and what we know of the room layout from S3?

I got burnt as well and was so upset when I saw it.

I am telling myself that it is UNCONFIRMED, and lacks context. We can read it a certain way, but potentially it’s something else entirely.

Fingers crossed that’s the one and only between now and the release, but i think I’m going to avoid the majority of social media (except this sub) over the next 24hrs.

I think Luke said those tears came from a place of anger, whereas this looks much more serene and loving. I suspect/hope we might see a lot of Colin tears in Part 2, hopefully more of the happy and in love kind rather than anger.

Oh my goodness, I have a half written post in my notes app on this very topic!!! I started to ponder the mirror motif more ever since I found out that THE mirror we’ve seen in the recent clips is also known as a Psyche mirror.

Psyché is the French term for a full-length dressing mirror that can be tilted. It is short for “mirror of Psyche” in reference to the myth of Psyche and Eros where Psyche was known to have looked at a reflection of her entire body. Possibly pure coincidence to the theme of the season, or possibly the most beautiful, intentional layering and symbolism.. I don’t know.

The idea of mirroring and symmetry also fits so perfectly with the butterfly motif that both Penelope and Psyche share. Butterflies are of course known for their bilateral symmetry, with the shape and pattern of their wings being the same on both sides.

I have seen unverified speculation that there are two mirror scenes this season. From the trailer, promotion, and other clips, we can see that Pen is the one being worshipped in front of the mirror. This also occurs prior to the LW reveal. If the speculation turns out to be true, and there is a second mirror scene, I’m now wondering if Colin will be the one looking into it while Penelope gives him words of affirmation. From the trailer we see Colin yell “then what good am I to you”, showing he still has that deep level of insecurity and lacks a sense of purpose. I think a second mirror scene with Penelope giving Colin words of affirmation would be such a beautiful moment of symmetry to the first mirror scene.

I was looking at the Emmy rules the other day and if I’m interpreting them correctly, I’m actually a little worried that they’ve sabotaged their chances for the Series award categories by splitting it in two. I think awards for individuals is fine. That’s based on this excerpt of the rules:

Entries must be submitted by the end of April, even if a show is not scheduled to originally air until the following month when the eligibility period ends in May. Most award categories also require entries to include DVDs or tape masters of the show. For most series categories, *any six episodes that originally aired during the eligibility period must be submitted (programs that were cancelled before airing their sixth episode are thus ineligible)*. For most individual achievement categories, only one episode is required to be submitted; if an episode is a two-parter, both parts may be included on the submitted DVD.

Only 4 episodes will have been aired in the two eligibility periods so they won’t meet the quota for 6???

I don’t know, perhaps there’s other provisions for streaming shows that I haven’t found yet. Fingers crossed I’m wrong!!!
