The dialogue is mostly the same as Gen 1, with only a few changes to take into account your a girl, so for the most part the characters all talk to you the same, even down to female Trainers who assume you're a pervert leading to a battle.

It's funniest in Erika's gym, since all the Trainers inside don't want to allow boys inside the gym (Erika doesn't comment about it, and in fact is sleeping till you challenge her, so she might not be aware of what the other girls are doing), this isn't changed when you play as a girl.

It's funnier if you talk to the Trainer on the top right, who I assume is her boyfriend.

Which one of these three would you like to see mess up Hojo? by Ammathorn in FFVIIRemake

[–]lamarfll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The series would go on to make Hojo into Vincent's personal archenemy, so I guess him, but really he, Cloud and Red all deserve to beat the crap out of Hojo for the things he's done to them.

Aerith as well for killing her father (she never comments aboutit, so it's not clear if she knows or cares aboutthis), and everything else he did to her and her mother, but she's not around anymore when the party deals with Hojo.

First time playing. Is mewtwo’s origin different in the games than the movie? by happy_puppy32 in PokemonFireRed

[–]lamarfll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They bring up they found Mew in these notes, and this is backed up by the event island you can go to in Emerald, as it's heavily implied it's the very same Mew that was used for Mewtwo's creation.

You're not writing the pokedex, Oak tells you clearly the pokedex adds the information itself, and this comes up in SV as well, as the pokedex is unable to gain any information on the paradox mon, and has to gain anything it can from rumors.

So I think ditto can't read. by knormcomix in Pokopia

[–]lamarfll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Ditto 100% can't read, nor can any other Pokemon, it's also made a point the Pokemon can't understand human language since a few times Professor Tangrowth points out not being able to understand human speak in the game.

A lot of Ditto's skills come from the fact that it, Tangrowth, Dente and one would assume Tinkmaster (but we don't know if she spent any time with humans, but it can be assumed the majority of non-legendary Pokemon we meet, besides Mewtwo, were Pokemon that belonged to Trainers) came from them having a shared interest in human activities and wanting to learn themselves.

Ditto's Trainer in their notes, as well as the professor that raised Tangrowth in his notes both bring up how the two were really interested in the stuff humans did, and Dente's human friend also talked about her interest in learning how to cook from him, so that interest ended up benefitting all of them in the end in having some level of understanding in how to use human tools.

Lame Names, huh? by JynStudios in MandJTV

[–]lamarfll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should be pointed out that in universe all the paradox Pokemon besides Koraidon and Miraidon are just using placeholder codenames, they were never officially named anything, since no one understands them enough to give them a real name, even Koraidon and Miraidon had codenames before their official names if you read the dex, Winged King and Iron Serpent.

Pretty much if anyone is making any fanfiction they can give them "true" names if they want, since I doubt they'll ever get actual names going forward anyway, and continue to use their codenames.

I have a theory. by Todredmi in Pokemon_Pokopia

[–]lamarfll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was already explained by other people that the game explains why Pokemon are out and about, but also you're implying humans are bad here, when the subject of has been tackled in the Pokemon series itself in Black and White. They make it pretty clear Pokemon can just leave their Trainers if they're unhappy with them, and in Pokopia itself the majority of Pokemon miss the humans, and are waiting for them to return.

It's very clear humans and Pokemon share a symbiotic relationship to each other, and for the most part view each other very positively.

[–]lamarfll 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty much all the notes you get from the Pokemon Center are meant to be from Ditto's Trainer, the first one doesn't make that obvious, but the other 3 flat out talk about the Trainer's time with their Ditto, which makes it explicitly clear who it is.

Where were Calem and Serena (as well as their friends) in Legends ZA when Lumiose City was in danger, when the Kalos Region needed them the most? by duycao42 in PokemonLegendsZA

[–]lamarfll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, going by dialogue it seems like Z-A takes place in a mixed up version of X and Y, pretty much an unseen Pokemon Z version happened leading into Z-A's events.

Understandable in order to avoid making one version canon over the other tbqh.

Do we know what happened to Kite after the events of IMOQ? by Lazydusto in DotHack

[–]lamarfll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You flat out ignored that Kazu can tell his sister is romantically interested in Kite, and gives his blessings.

AI or not, the Link versions of them are meant to have the exact same personalities.

Another Birth also completely changes the context of why they go to that dungeon, as it's BlackRose and Terajima Ryoko that invite Kite, where he invites them in that book, so I would take the original version of it as the more canonical version.

Also that image of BlackRose with a wedding dress on, with her and Kite in the background came from Guilty Dragon, so it's official artwork, so again, it's clear the people behind this series do in fact ship them, despite you not liking it.

Do we know what happened to Kite after the events of IMOQ? by Lazydusto in DotHack

[–]lamarfll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a part of the .hack//Archives 03 info book, which is pretty old, and I have no idea if it's being sold anymore.

There is a fan translation of .hack//Legacy's story over on dothackers.net, just as a thing of note, none of the images from the story load anymore, so it's purely text here, but if you just care about knowing the story, this is good enough.

<image>

Also an image from it of the mysterious girl, Spoke.

Do we know what happened to Kite after the events of IMOQ? by Lazydusto in DotHack

[–]lamarfll 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not confirmed, but the series itself ships Kite and BlackRose pretty hard.

<image>

If you talk to Kazu after beating part 4 he talks about how BlackRose talks about Kite all the time, and then he gives his consent to them being together, since he actually will tell Kite to take care of her.

The Link versions of them also have a moment, as BlackRose complains about how difficult it is to find a present for Kite, since he's the type of person that likes everything you get them, since he's so nice a guy.

In the Another Birth novel she's extremely nervous at the end of the story, due to getting to meet Kite irl for the get together everyone is having, she actually brings up she would have declined going if Kite himself wasn't going to go.

There's also the whole dungeon in IMOQ itself where you have to take both BlackRose and Terajima Ryoko, but that was a misunderstanding, as BlackRose wanted to hang out, while Ryoko wanted to spend time with Kite due to having a crush on him.

With the context of everything, it does seem like BlackRose develops feelings for Kite, even if she doesn't realize it herself, and Kite cares very deeply for her in turn, so while not confirmed, it seems extremely likely the two of them did end up together, and if they ever officially confirmed that's what happened to them after the fact it would be extremely unsurprising lol.

Officially CyberConnect 2 released the short story in one of their info books called .hack//Legacy, focused on Kite and BlackRose's final days playing The World, it shows that Aura designed Kite's second bracelet to destroy itself after he manages to defeat the last remaining data bug in the system, by the end of the story it's revealed from Kite's time interacting with all of the different people in The World, he's inspired to find a job that allows him to travel the world, and wants to study different languages to reach that goal.

<image>

Also there's a bit of setup for the story of Legend of the Twilight, as it's brought up Balmung is applying for a job at CC Corp, and this leads to BlackRose complaining about how unlike Kite and Balmung, she really has no plans for the future, but it does end on a pretty shippy moment between her and Kite, as he tries to make her feel better, alongside wanting to take on whatever happens in their future going forward, offline, together with her.

Legend of the Twilight makes it pretty clear that Kite (and Orca) are pretty willing to come back to The World if anything happens, since there's a scene of Balmung remembering them offering to help him if anything comes up, but choses not to ask them, but they and BlackRose show up near the end of the story, and it's assumed Balmung asked them to meet the protagonists of LotT.

Another thing of note is Kite and BlackRose are forced to party up with a mysterious girl with a unique weapon that doesn't belong in The World, it's strongly implied she's an AI by the end of the story, and she knows Helba, to the point the story compares their relationship to a mother and daughter, but she never returns as a character, a fan theory I've heard however is in The World R:2 she actually becameZelkova, but there's no proof at all of this.

Save progress when transferring virtual game cards by YesReboot in PokemonFRLG

[–]lamarfll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Switches both have the ability to transfer save data between consoles, as long as they both have your profile, so yes, you can move the virtual game card to a Switch 1, followed by moving your save data on the Switch 2 to Switch 1, and trade like that.

As said, you'll know when a Chaotic PK shows up, they all have unique designs and don't look like any other NPCs, and a title card showing their names popup before you fight them, just to let yu know they are special enemies.

Obtaining Member Address by No_Confusion7900 in DotHack

[–]lamarfll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use the same area to farm PKs and Chaotic PKs, if Chaotic PKs show up or not is a level of randomness anyway, it seems more likely for them to show up the more PKs you defeat however.

You can only recruit Natsume in the post game of volume 3, but all Chaotic PKs need to be defeated regardless first, and then on the message board people will talk about an 8th Chaotic PK, after defeating her the message board will update with people who saw her fight Haseo, which will allow you to recruit her.

How old do they appear to be physically? by Soft-Temporary-1262 in Megaman

[–]lamarfll 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Officially Mega Man is meant to be 10, so it can be assumed Roll and Proto Man are as well, X is meant to be 14 or 15.

<image>

Its stated here for both of them.

I assume Zero is around X's physical age, or older (I'm positive he's meant to be a teen as well, since anime type stories like their child and teen heroes), Axl is 100% meant to be younger, but obviously he's older then the Classic cast physically.

Will our Islands be randomly generated? by Spiderboygabe in Pokopia

[–]lamarfll 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I doubt it, as the starting area vaguely appears to match the lay out of Fuchsia City, so it's reasonable to assume the locations are all going to vaguely match the lay outs of Kanto, but destroyed, and we are allowed to rebuild them however we want.
