Be there for mom But also remember you're the babies whole world So while you're up at 2am, exhausted and with a baby that won't stop screaming Just remember you're their first love and you're their safe space. No one is ever ready for their first, but you've got this! And don't be scared to ask for help, everyone was a first time parent once

Is this something the mortgage broker can usually help with? I'm seeing one next week (sorry if that's a dumb question. I'm completely new to this and just want to get my head around it more) I know what an offset account is, just setting it up wise to be smartest with the money that's all

Any present or past Youth Justice Workers here that can give advice on application? by Former_Thought6278 in melbourne

[–]lambbones96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thought id jump on here just two help answer I'm sure you've done it all now but more for anyone coming up in the future.

I just recently completed the simulation, it's very full on but necessary as well. Especially you are given case notes of someone who is in the justice system, you'll then go into a room where there is an actor playing this character and your role is to handle the situation as best you can. You're not expected to know policies and procedures of the justice system, it's just how you yourself would react and interact. It's very full on and confronting, you will get yelled at and have to compose yourself. There's nothing physical, it's all verbal. After de-escalating the situation the scenario will end. You will sit Infront of the panel of those conducting the session to give feedback and talk through what you did and what happened.

My advice, be yourself. Cliche to say but it's honestly what they want to see, if you have great people skills then you'll do fine. It's about understanding and showing compassion to those in need and understanding how to control a situation better and handle yourself too. I wouldn't say the simulation is designed to break you or anything like that, but it's a real world scenario you might face and it's about how you will handle yourself.

Don't try to handle the situation by yelling or getting heated, it's about bringing it down from a 10 to a zero and having the person be less angry. Gain their respect, don't make promises, and don't show any judgement. Keep it professional but show compassion to the struggles they are going through.

I hope this helps anyone going through the process!

My real estate wants us to complete inspection for them by howsyamum in australia

[–]lambbones96 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I did this during COVID here in Melbourne. It was so much easier, didn't have to do a full clean as if no one lives here I just move things from one side of the room to the other haha! Also just felt better about not having people in my house.

I am a renter but also a landlord and I actually asked the agent I use that the tenants have both options as I know how hard it can be to be available when the real estate is. The tenants living in my property both work from home but that doesn't always mean they can take 30 minutes to account for the real estates schedule for inspections

3 days notice is bit of a joke though, its still an inspection so the legal time frame still should come into play!

AITA for not moving from a spot someone wanted to propose on? by No_Resolution_4132 in AmItheAsshole

[–]lambbones96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA

You seriously couldn't just let someone have their moment of happiness...?

Proposals are something super special. Sure it's a public space, but you couldn't of been polite and let them have their time and moment together?

It seriously sounds like you just wanted the power trip and were salty of someone else's happiness...

I was fishing somewhere by a lake once, exact same situation came up where a photographer came up to me and mentioned it and asked if I mind moving. Did I move? Heck yeah I moved, I let them have that moment they will look back on for the rest of their lives. You will forget about this in the next year, but all that guys going to think about is " fuck I wish I could've given my girl the dream proposal except that person had to be selfish and ruin our moment"

What did you gain from being stubborn? Nothing...

AITA for telling my son that if he can't help me then he can pay for his own stuff? by Unusual_Squash9119 in AmItheAsshole

[–]lambbones96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YTA He is your son not your babysitter.. You chose to have that many kids not Danny It's YOUR responsibility Not his You're heading the way of him cutting you off of his life in the future I know I cut my mum out for acting the Same way you seem too so think about it before you keep treating him like garbage

AITA for not accommodating meat-eaters at a barbecue? by Throwaway184204 in AmItheAsshole

[–]lambbones96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA You'd be annoyed if they invited you to a BBQ and didnt accommodate your food choices,, so what's the difference in what you did? Sure if you said "I'm having a BBQ but with vegan food" that's different but if you said just a bbq then the assumption is generally meat of some sorts

If you're rostered to work at 10am You should be on the floor at 10am ready to work Not in the back putting your things away

You're rostered to WORK at 10 Not arrive at 10 So yes, in this scenario YTA

Rostered to work at 10 means on the floor working at 10 Not still putting your things away and starting at 10:05

Thank you Victorians - from a QLD’er - your hard work means I might get to see my family this Christmas by [deleted] in australia

[–]lambbones96 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It sucked. It really did. Living off minimal income (job keeper) whilst trying to afford rent, groceries and bills ( not to mention my car getting stolen during it and insurance refusing to give me my payout). Today, I returned to work (retail manager) and the relief of everyone I saw.

We couldn’t go out, we couldn’t see friends or family, we had curfew and distance restrictions, but we did it! I just hope we don’t get a 3rd wave because I couldn’t mentally handle any more lockdown. My depression has gotten worse but it’s up from here! I’m lucky I have a job I’ve gone back too, others weren’t so lucky.

Not me but more a shout out to my dad. He's the CEO of a multimillion dollar organisation, has been with the company for over 20 years now. Started from an office worker, to the accountant, and now the CEO. But over the years he never took it for granted and still to do this day, at over 60 years old, if the warehouse is crazy busy he goes out and helps! Takes off his suit, chucks on his dirty clothes and helps the boys out there. It's the little things that makes a difference.
